Well I'm excited! Recasts are always fun, good or bad but I think he'll be solid in the role. DT was a disaster for the most part and Burgess was such a forgettable recast all JT really has to do is come in and make the character work in his own way.

Actually, thinking about it, he is a male from GH... so he just might do well, in terms of perks, salary and accommodations..... Naturally, the writing won't be a part of it.

Seriously! At the very least, give him a good cut and dye his hair to match the look of the damn character. This is why (one of the reasons) daytime is considered inferior. You don't just allow someone to saunter in, looking nothing like an established character of almost TWO decades just because he is supposedly a star. On every TV series, every movie, the actors change their look to match the character. Why are these bitches allowed to just walk in as if they just woke up and, poof, that's it!?

Well, it's official- Y&R has definitely turned its back on youth.  Thompson looks as old as BJ.

I was also wondering if anyone watching recognizes the name. They may from mags and such. This reception reminds me of the one SBu had on the talk...confetti and all. 

 

I've never seen his work myself but I know who he is.

JT would have been great during the William Bell years not so much at all now.

I like JT, but I just don't think BillyAbbott is the right role. I agree with Khan about Cole, maybe a Brooks/Foster, even Philip IV...maybe.

The real question is how many more of these "so and so" are joining Y&R promos are they gonna do, before they realize how utterly embarrassing it is....

Exactly. This is ridiculous! They could make a promo about ERIC BRAEDEN, MELODY THOMAS SCOTT or JESS WALTON and people who watch CBS at least would take notice. But these kind of promos for such non-stars???  Think again!
