September 26, 201510 yr Member For some of us soaps fans (back in the 70s and 80s particularly), there have been songs that became rather popular in the mainstream due to their rotation on daytime soaps. For example: Friends & Lovers by Gloria Loring and Carl Anderson, made popular by DOOL in 1985/6 thanks to it being Shane and Kim's song. Baby Come To Me by Patti Austin and James Ingram was another big one due to its airplay on GH back in the early 80s. Rise by Herb Alpert is forever associated by people with Luke's rape of Laura in the disco on GH in 1979. What other similar songs come to mind for you?
September 26, 201510 yr Member Every Time I See Your Picture I Cry, by Luba, for the AW montage after Mac disowns Iris. Hello Dolly for the superb "Hello Delia" fantasy on Ryan's Hope This Woman's Work, by Kate Bush, for a montage on Emmerdale in 2008 where a couple got their swapped baby back. September 26, 201510 yr Member "Truly," by Lionel Richie, for GL's Phillip and Beth. "You Needed Me," by Anne Murray, for Kelly and Morgan (also GL). "When I See You Smile," by Bad English, for Dylan and Samantha (also GL).
September 26, 201510 yr Member The 19th century but forever famous song Daisy (Bicycle Built For Two) is one I think of for AMC due to it being Daisy's theme song whenever the scene shifted to a romantic scene for her and Palmer.
September 26, 201510 yr Member "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" as Victor and Nikki's recurring theme song on Y&R.
September 26, 201510 yr Member "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" as Victor and Nikki's recurring theme song on Y&R. ANd we probably will never here it on the show again :(.....at least until Victor's funeral....(I know that's low to say, but it's true....)
September 26, 201510 yr Member And I guess Pose would have to be associated with B&B lmao! "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" as Victor and Nikki's recurring theme song on Y&R. ANd we probably will never here it on the show again :(.....at least until Victor's funeral....(I know that's low to say, but it's true....) That's probably true. Granted, the show probably couldn't pull off that kind of cheese like they used to, anyway. It might be for the best!
September 26, 201510 yr Member There's one for Bo & Hope from the 80's. I think the title "Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You" I think that's the song. I might be wrong lol

That, and it's just so hard to even associate that song with V/N these days because of how they are today versus the iconic love story (which of course always had major flaws anyways) to quote the song (and to sound a little cheesy myself) "There is no light to be found in this storm..." LOL at "Pose"....gosh such a classic.... Edited September 27, 201510 yr by YRfan23
September 27, 201510 yr Member The theme to "Barefoot in the Park," which AMC played as an instrumental when Cliff and Nina were in Central Park in a horse-drawn carriage before they married for the 59th time.
