Didn’t you rather famously piss off James Reilly, when he was head-writing Days, and get kicked off the show as a result?
Oh, yes! There was an actor on the show who wasn’t happy that I was getting a lot of the dialogue. And one day this actor said to me, “Well, you did say that James Reilly’s scripts were s—t.” I never said any such thing! In fact, I was one of the actors who would always say the lines exactly as written. I never had to rewrite Reilly’s work to make it come off the page. So one day I was called into the office and the producer said, “James Reilly is absolutely furious! He got word that you said his scripts were s—t!” And so I knew who betrayed me.

And pretty soon you were out?
Yes. And every time Reilly came back to Days it would be, “Thaao, time to go!” And then every time he left, it was time for me to come back.

 

Ha! I want to know who the actor was.

 

Glad to have Thaao back

So Thaao is contract too. I'm a bit lost with all the additions.

Jason47, could you tell us who is on contract status among the new additions left to come: Shawn, Belle, Sami, Ava, Philip, Eduardo, Lani, Finn, Claire, Ciara, Theo, Chase, Chloe ?

I wish he had come back as Tony instead.  I never cared at all for Andre.

I never cared for Thaao, period. 

So Andre is going to be Stefano's SON now?

Pretty much.  But, as always, this is DAYS, where everything, including genealogy, is written in the sands that pour through that iconic hourglass.

LOL. He gives a good interview. I'm so glad he was brought back.

 

LOL at the Reilly stuff. Wonder who the actor was (Jason Brooks? Insecure hot new leading man jealous of Penghlis? Just a thought ....) and what did Matt Ashford do to Reilly to get the same treatment? He had little interest in Aniston and Victor too.

 

Anyway ... I don't mind Andre being Stefano's son. If they aren't bringing Tony back (and I'm not saying they aren't, they could I guess) I'm OK with Andre. I'm just hopeful Thaao's raving about the writing comes to pass and it's good stuff. We need to see more from Andre than just a psycho they pull out of their back pocket. He needs to be a viable character.

You just know Tony is around the corner... how could they resist?

I'd be more than willing to welcome Tony back too. His death was awful and wasn't necessary at the time. I'd want it rectified, though it seems a tiny bit of a stretch but this is DAYS, so ... I think most fans are usually willing to shrug it off and look the other way.

Sure, why not. I'm already confused on who did what when and where and why.

Wild? I'd expect nothing less!

Of course Tony will pop up eventually or Andre will turn out to be Tony. Hey, Tony has turned out to be Andre twice. I didn't like Tony's 2009 death although it gave Leann Hurley some amazing material to work off in the aftermath. Has Hurley been announced as returning herself at all? 

 

I'd like to know the actor who betrayed Penghlis too. I know the same thing happened to John Aniston too. Friends even had JER on the show himself being a tyrannical writer. I remember back in 2004 when Melaswen was first revealed Deidre Hall made a point to say she was grateful for Reilly's story.
