He has good taste in cliffhangers, and he deeply loves soaps. The problem is he took too many of the wrong lessons to heart and has forgotten the best ones he used to know well.

Those were pretty good cliffhangers, although I don't think the last Dynasty ranks up there with some of these others. Who Shot JR will always be the gold standard obviously and I doubt any show will ever match that, but I would have chosen Dynasty Season 2 triple cliffhanger with the OTT Cecil Colby heart attack set to porn music. Season 3 had the amazing fire in the cabin cliffhanger which also was better than the final episode. On Dallas, how can you not include Bobby in the shower? It is one of the most famous clifffhangers in history, probably second only to Who Shot JR. Val's babies was a classic, as was Sid.

His own cliffhangers sort of suck, but he does try. He just tends to blah out. Admittedly he doesn't have the budget to do aliens landing or amazing fires, but he could have done more dramatic stuff than the snoozefest Jason story or this endless fascination with Michelle Stafford and Roger Howarth.

Oh my G-d, the first thing that struck me when I clicked on that link is his resemblance to the kid who plays Spencer. Go figure.

I'm surprised he picked The Colbys, but at any rate, Fallon did have some material about her real or imagined alien abduction when she returned to Dynasty.

Yes, she even had a meeting with some alien abductee group.

And he missed a few of the final cliffhangers on Dynasty - it didn't end with just Dex and Alexis taking a tumble, Fallon and Krystina was stuck with the collection with a homicidal Son of Grimes and Blake being shot was the last scene.

Most of these were good choices, which is shocking to me considering how much I despise his writing, but instead of the Moldavian Massacre on Dynasty I would've chosen Jill forcing Val to swallowing the sleeping pills on Knot's Landing.

Can't imagine why anyone would care what someone who can't even spell cliffhangers, let alone executive one, has to say about real writers' cliffhangers.

But I digress...I actually agree with moRon about Who shot JR (gotta go bathe). This was the biggest thing in television ever, but even at that time, the sister in law just wasn't big enough. They really should have gone deeper.

Poor "Falcon Crest" got shafted again. I think both the season 2 and season 3 cliffhangers on that show deserve to be up there.

Season 2, when Julia was revealed as the murderer of Carlo Agretti, Melissa's father, at Vickie's wedding reception. She pulls up a gun, shots are fired and the last image is a coffin being lowered into the ground.....

Season 3, when Julia was believed dead and the entire family (except Cole and Melissa) was on their way to Tuscany, Italy to bury her. Chase was the pilot of the plane, and suddenly the engines stop and the plane starts to go down....
