DAYS would not chuck a popular coupling in the fire like that, nor would they make the more popular of the pairing commit the transgression. what they are doing now, is seeing who will 'happen' with Paul in a real, coupley sense and when the dust settles THAT will be the OTP.

I was more bothered by her hair and Lucas' weird tan.

Sonny's not a dynamic character, never will be, but Freddie Smith has a nice basic charisma and sincerity that serves a soap character well. He fits into Salem and what DAYS represents, even as most of the younger cast is always shaky. He has an inner life, whereas Will, who on paper is a very rich character, never really has, IMO. Maybe that will change, I don't know.

I have no problem breaking up couples, but I don't see what is so great about this. The only stories this regime tells are people having affair after affair after affair. Snooze.

I have a big problem with the show myself relating to the lack of vets, the vets on here being used improperly, etc. This tells me they won't be treating Will and Sonny with kid gloves. They'll fight and have affairs just like other gay couples would.

In all honesty, this is the best thing for Sonny/Will. Storylines about baby mamas in jail, writing, magazine articles, finances.... yawn. We don't see that kind of everyday stuff with the heteros, so to have the sole gay couple--- a boring ass couple at that--- tackling these issues was a double snooze.

Freddie/Guy as Sonny/Will are a big zero. So, like any soap couple that's been ruined by a recast that just isn't gelling, they're busting up the couple. Smart move.

Considering the luck they found in Christopher Sean as Paul (I wish they had chosen a different name), I'm all for a new gay coupling as the end game.

Meanwhile, there's that bellhop Derrick, who's looking to get screwed by screw anything with a dick....

Derrick should have been a Will recast. I really am starting to agree with that sentiment. I don't mind Guy at all and continue to think he gets ragged on a bit too much but the dude playing Derrick would work great in the role, IMO.

Will, Paul, Sonny and Derrick are the best things about DAYS. That's both very good and very very sad [with how badly the rest of the cast is being completely and totally wasted].
