But don't you see? That's the whole point! If you want HAWT and FUN and WET PEOPLE, Y&R is the show for you. wacko.png At least that's what the promo is suggesting! lol

Sadly, I think that's EXACTLY what Y&R and the Promo Dept. wants us to see. My personal interpretation is though, that somehow, summertime fun is supposed to mean a drop in all our standards (which, let's face it, as soap fans with today's shows, we've already lowered our standards by a lot).

I think they're also trying to rope in the high school and college crowd but when I was in high school and college, I wanted all the complex drama that the adults were watching. Not some Sweet Valley High nonsense.

When I was in middle school/high school I wanted to watch shows that featured people my age or at least in their 20's. I didn't mind if they drama wasn't very complex but I wanted to see myself.

Now that I have gotten older, I care more so about the drama/the story.

I saw nothing in that promo that would draw in young people. Jessica Collins's boobs? Who cares. Mishael Morgan laying in bed with what looks to be her father? Ugh! Someone getting water poured on them? Uhm, what is this, Nickelodeon's double dare? No thanks. Young'uns today are too busy on social media living out their own brand of drama.

You wish your life was as "Sinful and Sizzling".

I like how Y&R has turned to an ABC soap circa '02.

And the these younger viewers are going to pass up cable and Netflix for YR's version of hot and sizzling? Don't think so. This is what happens when the soaps try to cater to the Young and Jobless - they screw up SLs and feature the most boring "attractive" no talents!

They're not even going to pass up Hulu for this nonsense? The adolescent characters are non-existent (which may be just as well since Y&R hasn't been good at writing teen and YA characters in well over a decade), the 20 something set ain't got sh*t to do and most of the rest of the prime of life characters are saddled with kids or you have Devon who's had an offscreen relationship for years! Some college student is supposed to watch this over the summer?! I think they'd rather watch Orange is the New Black or East Los High or something.

Hell, I don't even want to watch this show half the time!

How dare y'all say such nasty (and untrue) things about America's Number One Daytime Drama! Why, don't you know, the HW is the legendary, multi-Emmy-winning scribe Jean Passanante, the queen of classic, multi-generational, umbrella storytelling?
