I keep coming back to this photo because it's totally classic soap. That fur, that face, everything.

That's such an '80s coat too, mink with fox tuxedo and sleeves. Reminds me of one of my mom's coats and many I'd see at church on Sundays.

Watched again last night to get the image of Galavant out of my head.

How precious was the scene of Cookie playing the piano as she is telling Lucious she wants Jamal? That was one of the most amazing things I've seen on TV in a long while! Beautifully executed!

Finally watching and its pretty damn good. I was afraid this would be like the Life and Styles of P Diddy, harem, and family.

Far superior than that hot mess The Haves & the Have Nots

I recognize that latino boyfriend from a kiddie soap opera my niece watches.

I was only familiar with Jussie as Jurnee's brother and Raven's friend but he's pretty good here.

I think we have a hit too. It's been getting a lot of love and I know some insane fans are bitching but screw em. I see a lot of love on social media for it and the ratings actually held steady for the premiere, which IS a good sign. Everyone watched the entire hour and didn't dip out in the second half hour.

I mean, a lot of shows can pull in a great premiere number and collapse the following weeks but the show looks solid. We'll know better in the next couple of weeks.

Hot damn!

Yep.

That's very encouraging. Even though the ratings were great to begin with ... it's still, to me, very very encouraging.

People in my family are already referring to the show as "Cookie them." I think we have a hit.

If we think about it, they did court her first. Another thing, I could see after Lucious dies, she'll taking over the company. Since she's the one who got the ear for talent & marketing skills.

That literally is what sold me on Cookie and Taraji in this role. It's so clear just that little scene how much she loves Jamal is and is willing to FIGHT for her son. Even more so than the trash scene cuz to me she could have let it all go and played quiet to get that quick check from Lucius.

Instead she put her foot down and told him and that mean slimy Uncle Vernon what's what.
