I thought they were alright on that one day together, but that was one day. Since then he has proven to be beyond lousy. He's not fit for any serious frontburner storyline, let alone with Maxie. It's going to come off like Bo Buchanan dragging his dead son around on OLTL. Kirsten will be playing the role of Bo, and Ryan Paevey will be Dead Drew. I can't with this guy. You could give him lighter sex-driven fare with someone else, some fling, but really, the show doesn't need him.

No, they had chemistry for sure. One episode isn't enough to gauge anything though.

I find that surprising, I think Kirsten is actually one of the cast members that has the most chemistry with the others (romantic or platonic). I kind of figured that's why they've kept her around, she comes off as endearing and charismatic to me.

Kirsten used to be, but she was sleepwalking through her return IMO. I can see why, as it sucked and none of it was about Maxie anyway, but I felt like there was a huge difference from what she was before she left.

You mean from when she left and came back when Jen Lilley was playing her right? I think having such a heavy storyline as the surrogate has hindered some of the old spirit. Plus, the character has matured quite a bit and I believe is coming back zen-like and borderline hippie so we'll see how Kirsten plays this side of Maxie, if any differently at all.

To me, the whole "Eat Pray Love" story angle is made significantly less 'clever' - though I'm sure many will fawn over it - given the fact that before Maxie left they went out of their way to have her and her loved ones say over and over onscreen that "Maxie is going to do this 'Eat Pray Love' thing." It's not exactly a witty lift from a popular film if you have the character say outright, 'for my next storyline I am going to go emulate a popular film.'

I can't deny the show is a mess right now. But I agree, hopefully being Spinelli-less and fancy-free will give a boost to the Maxie character!

I thought the "Love" part was more in reference to self love and self improvement but I guess it means romantically since she shows up with that Levi hippie dude. But I've never seen the film so what do I know?

I would've been more happy to see her with Michael, which is about the best idea for Maxie's new man - and a clever foil for her, at that - that I've ever heard. CD has brilliant comic timing has a straight man, and I think that would be unconventional genius. As it is, Ryan Paevey is not exactly bringing anything to the table but his body, so I'm already bored with this. It's even worse than the other boring, forced pairings they used to hurl at Maxie at Brian Frons's behest - in the old days he always seemed to be the one who wanted something, anything for Maxie other than Spinelli, and they kept shoving her at the nearest hot guys for 'hot' pairings with sexy Kirsten Storms - because all of those guys, even the very boring Jason Gerhardt (Coop), were better actors than this lunk. Even Jesse, Kindergarten Cop. This is just going to be pain. Kirsten Storms running circles around an attractive, brooding man talking a mile a minute - we've all seen this before.

I'd take that over this. I don't care. Johnny Zacchara? It's not great for Maxie, but he's a good character and it's a reasonable alternative. Plenty of offscreen pairings have been paired onscreen - some work, some don't. Like Wally Kurth and Rena Sofer.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
