March 10, 201412 yr Member It's funny, but I've always seen DM play a B*tch character, never a victim. Everyone else was her victim. She looks fantastic...bewitching eyes...Welcome back to TV Donna Mills... too bad you are playing a Ron C. creation!
March 11, 201412 yr Member She was the best bitch in primetime on Knots. As much as I enjoyed Alexis, Abby has more grounded storylines, more characters to play against, and we got to watch her fight for each step up the ladder. She was very entertaing and had chemistry with everyone. She would have been a fantastic Alexandra Spaulding on GL.

In fact, the only bad ass who gets top honors above Alexis is JR Ewing!
March 11, 201412 yr Member JR was too one-note for me. Alexis was a caricature but Joan made it work. Abby was a complex, rich character. She was never just a primetime bitch. I don't ever compare her to Alexis because that's not fair to Joan Collins, who had to play sucky, sucky writing for 80% of her run.
March 11, 201412 yr Member I love Joan Collins to death, I always have, but I've seen Donna Mills on KL since then and Joan doesn't scare me the way she can. Mills is grounded in more reality.

March 11, 201412 yr Member It might not be fair to compare Abby with Alexis since I believe their overall motivations were different. Alexis operated out of a need to destroy Blake for kicking her out of their mansion, their marriage and their children's lives (mixed with jealousy, of course, toward Krystle for enjoying spoils she believed rightfully belonged to her), while Abby schemed her way to the top b/c, as she told Olivia on one occasion, she did not want to spend the rest of her life clipping coupons and wishing her children had had more advantages than she did.
March 11, 201412 yr Member JR was too one-note for me. JR was the best of them all! He had more than one aspect to him, his sense of humor and the way he seemed to enjoy being bad, his respect for his parents, the way he tortured yet loved Sue Ellen, the way he would never give up trying to get Jon Ross, his complicated relationship with Bobby...I think it is his multi faceted personality that helped make him the biggest, most famous villain in TV history.
March 11, 201412 yr Member I wonder if Joan Collins and Joan Van Ark are placing bets to see how long Mills lasts on daytime.

March 11, 201412 yr Member I wonder if Joan Collins and Joan Van Ark are placing bets to see how long Mills lasts on daytime. Joan Collins punked out. She couldn't handle it and quit.
March 11, 201412 yr Member Damn, she really does. And Ted Shakelford looks like S HIT! I have to say the primetime women have aged well minus JVA....Linda Gray looks just as good!
