Seriously, Brooke's head is going to explode when she finds about that Ridge and Katie are in "B&B instant love." Ridge was relieved to find out that Katie had faked the faint to stop the wedding. He did not want to marry Brooke. All he did was hug Katie when she told him. Bill's reaction should also be fun to watch.

The spoilers are

Maybe once that might have been true (Taylor did some questionable stuff back in the 90s but it was always poor, noble TayTay!) but not today. I don't think the audience will let her get away with it, I don't think Brooke's family and certainly not Brooke herself. When it comes to Ridge, Brooke is a tiger and plays to win. They are setting up a rivalry here, and it involves the Forresters and the Spencers directly, too. I am cool with this story because, apart from Quinn, it is a lot better than the younger SL!

Also Ridge stroking Katie's arm and back, pressing his scratchy cheek to hers... I'm feeling it. What I wasn't feeling was this insta-wedding. He should have held off while he has these feelings for someone else. And don't give me that RJ excuse as he wasn't even there!

Brooke's wedding dress was really elegant and flattering but in a lot of ways she looked better in her normal clothes with her hair down at the hospital. HT's skin is absolutely amazing but for some reason her neck looked ginormous in the hospital scenes. Not at the wedding, though. Huh.

Hope and Wyattzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I thought Quinn was going to be in black leather whipping Bill in a harness! Pity it was just smashing things. She didn't even use his belt on the pig!

I don't get the complaints about Katie. Fainting at that wedding is the first interesting that she has EVER done. It was the first time she felt like a soap character to me. It actually made me start watching again. I have no doubt that Ridge will end up back with Brooke, but Brad clearly is going for some drama here, I suspect to redeem Brooke since he has admitted in interviews that Brooke and Bill turned a lot of fans against his beloved Brooke. It was why he broke them up and brought back sped up Ridge's return.

I did not notice HT's huge neck, but there were lots of close ups of her at the hospital. See it is fine to have close ups of her and TK, but they need to stop doing them with KKL.

Bringing Ridge back without a back story of his time in Paris was/is a mistake. Ridge saying he has changed doesn't cut it. How has he changed and why, would do the trick. He's still pompous so no change there.

Glad to see Katie's heart transplant scar still being featured.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
