She really is. Her performance is artless and without charm. When she appears on my screen, all I can see is her disaffected mouth, the corners pointing invariably downward. She is usually haranguing somebody, either Kevin, Chelsea or Esther. She is meant to be the sarcastic, calls-it-like-it-is character, but that's the thing about sarcasm: it has to be on the button and it has to be funny. Chloe never comes across as funny, or witty or a truthteller. Just mean. She seems to have few redeeming qualities.

Delia's death has IMO exposed EH's weaknesses. Basically, EH can only show one emotion at a time. There is never any nuance or shade, her setting is either at SNARKY or at ANGRY. Even when asked to play grief, she went for ANGRY. I mean, I get that her anger was a subset of her grieving. But there was no light and shade as she ground through her dialogue. It was all one monotone emotion in that hard little voice.

And yes, she didn't get all the Emmy opportunities that Billy Miller got (and which went to waste, clearly), but that's your job as an actor. You get scraps, you turn it into a feast.

It doesn't feel like Y&R to me because there is no real business storylines. These life tragedies are fine but they need the overarching business story to tie all the cast of characters and stories together. Bonaventure doesn't do it. For example: I can't believe that companies haven't pulled their products from Fenmore's with all their drama going on. Both Jack and Victor should be at least contemplating it with one pulling from and the other staying with..and this should affect each companies bottom line. I think most of us can write this stuff in our sleep. The writers should be able to do so as well. Matter of fact, Devon should be looking to add some boutique to the GCAC that would provide competition for Fenmore's, Jackie M maybe (cross over with B&B, Marcus is his cousin)....maybe even try to use his money to buy political clout to make gambling legal in Wisconsin so he can add a casino. Then have some organized crime members try to take him out to keep it from becoming legal (also works being that they already have the mob story happening). So many business type things can be done on this show and the writers don't even try. All we get is Jack versus Victor over some baby or one trying to take the other's company.

Yes he mentioned that he was marrying her for that BUT it was my understanding that he couldn't come back because of his criminal activities...not because he wasn't a citizen. I thought once you were banished from the country for crimes you can't come back no matter what.

My memory of the details may be a little fuzzy however.

I agree the whole cassie mess is stupid.

I think the pacing has improved because now its sweeps but it'll probably decrease again afterwards. Hope I'm wrong as the show for the most part has been good.

I'd rather have neither, personally. I didn't think that GenVs character fit the show at all nor was I impressed with GF's over the top acting. However, she did get better once she toned her character down 2 or 3 notches. But still, I was well rid of her. Mostly because I thought that they were well on their way to making Cane into Tucker's son also. I did not want. They may still go there but not very likely now that GenV nor Tucker are on.

I hate boring storylines so if this is going to be her story I'd rather her be put on the backburner. We shouldn't have to settle for scraps and and bad storytelling.

I didn't like her at first either but she grew on me when they toned her down. The only reason why I would rather have her however is because they wouldn't have to rewrite or overlook history to bring her back. I have a feeling jill is going to fall for Colin the man who not only kidnapped her but her "grandchildren" as well and I can't ever see myself accepting them as a couple.

But you're right neither are needed.

    • Actually I think Ashley has OCPD, not OCD.  OCPD: https://iocdf.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/OCPD-Fact-Sheet.pdf OCPD and OCD are often confused in general conversation, which is totally understandable, even though they are different. And it doesn't really matter here, since this is a fictional character... and the show is highlighting Ashley's obsession with controlling every aspect of things.
    • Her voice reminds me somewhat of the late Carrie Donovan (best known for Old Navy commercials).. but she was big in the fashion world I believe.

    • Pardon me? What exactly is harsh? I think I'm allowed to say my honest natural reaction to these stupid songs.  Jesus...

date: Monday, May 19 | Ron Carlivati, Danielle Paige | Shelley Curtis Dani and Pamela are a hoot together at the casino; they're really giving me "go girl, get yours" vibes! Katherine is totally on the warpath and is pushing every single male away. Dana is single-handedly selling her daughter out, with the unknown help of Katherine's secret recording. I like seeing both Andre and Ted giving Eva the kind of family she never had with Dana. Oh, is Dani catching onto things where Douglas is concerned? Interesting. Derek is a moron, and Ashley continues to give me a "type A" personality, with a lot of anal retentiveness/OCD. And ew, he's a trash eater. So gross. Oh, Diego, go get it! Why do I feel like Pamela vs. Vanessa is about to become a thing! But get IT, Pamela! Get IT! Not Dana thinking she knows the law when Jacob checked her immediately. Tomas is a smooth talker, and I love it. Hell, even I would fall for him easily. So, Tomas went into the Navy to put himself through law school. Quite interesting. What a nice backstory. The sexual innuendo between Joey and Vanessa while Douglas is listening on is hilarious. It's very obvious Pamela and Vanessa are not friends at all, and that's something I'd love to see play out at some point. Yes, Derek, she wants your ass out. I want your ass out. I'd be throwing you, your ugly-ass named chair and everything else OUT of MY apartment! So, Vanessa let the cat out of the bag. That's interesting timing, but Douglas is still lying to her. Notes: Again, both Jon Lindstrom (Joey) and Cady McClain (Pamela) are in scenes together yet did not directly interact. Kudos to them for showing up and putting the professional work in.
    • I don't understand Cady either. I was looking forward to seeing her on this show, but unfortunately not the way she's currently playing Pamela. It seems cartoonish. Something this show doesn't need if it wants to be taken seriously. Why are they letting her do that?  I liked Vanessa initially, but they need to tone her down. Her hooking up and role playing with so many people is a turn off for her character for me. The Diego angle was fun. Should have left it at that. But all the others makes me have less sympathy for her.  If they are going to tinker with the cast (Ted), please consider Tomas and Derek. For me they are the two that pull the show down for me. A hot Eva/Tomas/Kat triangle could work with the right actor. I think Jen Jacobs might be better if she had a better storyline. I'd give her some time and thankfully Martin has improved.  Uh-oh Jacob!! Mama better not mess with you!
    • The accent is horrible. Today's episode is dry.  I feel bad for Derek. Homie said his breathing bothers her lol.
