VPR editing definitely deserves an Emmy for the way they tweaked/recut an entire season as a slow build to Scandoval (OR DID THEY?? Conspiracy theories abound), and the way they filmed the fallout and played every beat.

 

 

In answer to the question posed in this Tweet, classic RHONY S1-10 (and possibly 11 & 12). Longtime editor Peter Gamba, who passed away from Covid during the first wave in 2020, made RHONY a comic powerhouse with his amazing cuts alone.

The somewhat snobbish Emmy voters would typically thumb their noses at a “trashy” youth-demo reality show largely associated with drinking, drugging middle-aged adolescents who are tabloid fodder, so this is a great breakthrough. Shows how transcendent this season was.

RHONY definitely deserved some recognition.

Well deserved!

I sorta agree with Andy that it's befuddling none of the RH shows have ever received a nomination -- but we know the stigma that "trashy" reality shows carry. This kind of feels like a barrier being broken down, if nothing else.

      I was bummed at the time.  AMC had 3 books going so far as the introductions of Brooke and Dona Beck.  I think GH had 2 books.  I was anticipating more OLTL.  My guess is that they did not sell well.

      Roman sitting with Kayla, thanking John for raising his kids… and Josh saying goodbye to a lifelong friend - total tearjerker . Can’t wait to see Carrie, Sami, Hope, and Jennifer comforting Marlena. Bo and Marlena’s reunion is going to be so emotional. I guess because of the long-time rift between Deidre and Suzanne, we won’t get any Marlena and Maggie scenes? That’s really too bad. Maggie should be there.

      So far, Canada has been one day ahead for six episodes. @Toups @Errol  any official word on this?       I guess that's why I never could hate Drake Hogestyn or John Black so much that I wanted him off the show.  DH always came across (on screen and off) as the ultimate "team player," who never phoned it in or mistreated his colleagues or fans in any way.

      Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
