B&B: Former GH actress joining the show

For some reason, I'm not worried about Rena on this show b/c she'll be utilized in the same capacity as Crystal Chappell (who is on recurring) and that's rarely. Brad will wear her out for awhile b/c she has a that "new smell" to her but will soon revert the show back to the perils of Brooke, Hope, Steffy, Bill, Liam, & Katie.

It always amuses me when people say someone has gone to B&B and therefore will not be available again any time soon. Nine times out of ten all that means is they're not going to be available every sixth Thursday for maybe a year.

Guess this means Lesli Kay's Felicia won't be popping in for a visit anytime soon.

I echo someone else's idea in bringing Thorne back to the forefront. Ridge isn't even on the show anymore and poor Winsor Harmon is still never seen.

Rena Sofer is always one of those actresses that seem like a good idea at the time but then it doesn't pan out well onscreen. She was on that awful U.S. remake of the UK's sitcom Coupling and her interpretation was horrible (as was nearly everyone else's including B&B alumni Lindsay Price).

And yea. Her run on Melrose's final season was only good at the tail end when she went looney tunes.

Eh. Showkilla. Speaking of former Loises, couldn't they give Lesli Kay a contract as Felicia Forrester? What I would do to see her front-and-centre on my screen. This woman plays Felicia like Stephanie's natural successor.

They are obviously trying to fill the void left by SF's Stephanie. They need powerful actress and personality to take over Queen Bitch on the show...hopefully this one can fit the bill.

They tried giving HTylo the role and it failed miserably. Instead of being powerful, intimidating, and controlling....she came off like Gladys Kravitz running around LA gossiping....running to Abner (Eric) to convince him that Samantha (Brooke) was up to no good....and no one believing her even when she was FINALLY right. They pretty much put an end to Taylor being taken even slightly believable as a psychiatrist, too, with her unethical and ridiculous behavior trying to treat a heart transplant patient with supposed PPD...and then whipping said patient up into a frenzy several times by projecting the unethical quack's baggage onto said patient.

Time to change it up a bit. Bring in a black woman in that age group who does more than hold trays full of food.

The black women on BB are all but nonexistent in the personality department, and neither has an edge. Dayzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzee wants to be 56 years old so badly, she doesn't know what to do with herself. I think KL was not the best choice no matter what they were going for here. MaYAWN! Good God! Jacob Young deserves better. They should have gone for Annie Illonzeh (Maya from GH) or someone else. The story is lacking, and then you have only 1/2 that is the least bit appealing. How am I supposed to root for this?!

Oh I disagree. I LOVE Karla Mosley as Maya so I can't fault them there. I think they've done a great job casting Maya, Carter and Dayzee and I accept MushyMouth Marcus the same way I accepted Ronn Moss. He's pretty, extremely dumb but endearing. My only hope on the black side of things is that Victoria Rowell play the Fern character they're casting. She could have a similar effect to what Don Diamont and Heather Tom did for the show. I hope they're smart enough to hire her. The role reads for her and I can't see them doing better in the casting department. As for Rena Sofer, I've never liked her. I prefered Lesli Kay as Lois and I feel she ruined Melrose Place and 24. She's not a bad actress, but I've always found her cold and bland. I don't understand the excitement behind her casting. Just looking at her, it would make sense to make her a Felicia recast, but this all just highlights the fact that Lesli Kay should be back and on contract. SHE is the natural successor to the throne left open by Stephanie.

This is good news. It's not like B&B has ever been known for it's acting. Almost all of the main players through the years have been weak. Ronn Moss, anyone? RS may not be the greatest, but she's as good as the actors this show was built around with the possible exception of SF.
