:'( That's only 1 hour worth of new content a week. I fear that this isn't going to be good for the soap format... I'll try to stay optimistic and just thank PP for continuing to air the show at all.

I'm angry that they did this already as they don't even have a month of data. Who knows what will happen once schools are out and people are on vacation, I could understand if they abbreviated the schedule for that reason.

Now I feel like they are shooting themselves in the foot, as the second AMC cycle is already done taping. With OLTL, I expect rewrites and a big mess for the cast and writers...

Also from reading fb/twitter etc it seems there's still people only just finding out there back & starting to watch. With it being such a new idea i'd have thought 3 weeks isnt enough time to judge it

Some are speculating that money is tight, and because the shows are not doing as well as they had hoped, it's time to cut back on the eppies.

The thing is, they seemed to be doing pretty well. At least according to all the numbers released.

I can understand trying to dissuade binge viewing up to a point but I don't really buy it. I think they need to stick with what they've got.

Which is why I believe it has more to do with finances. Three weeks is certainly NOT enough time to measure a soap!

That's all I got.

Just...[!@#$%^&*].

Then, maybe they should just consolidate the week's episodes into 2 hour long affairs.

If this plan fails I am sure they will revert to the original plan.

If anything, they'll just cut back again to one.

You mean, one hour for AMC and one for OLTL? That might not be a bad idea. They'd become more like the primetime soaps. But, I don't trust the current production regimes to know how to revamp their respective shows that way.

In the end, Susan Lucci might have played it smart to remain non-commital about returning.

Maybe production is taking longer on the episodes are they dont think they will produce 168 this year. I think OLTL wanted 40 episodes completed by the end of their first cycle and MA said they only got 20 some episodes completed. I think AMC only shot 12 its first cycle as well. I think the idea was to shoot two episodes a day

I just don't understand what the problem is with binge viewing. I think they're overthinking the numbers. I also think it may have to do with production turnaround to air and giving themselves some distance, which is understandable.

I'd be surprised if this stands for long. I think they'll try it and revert back, frankly.
