I don't have a problem with Mison. Crane's one liners are part of the charm as his exaggerated reactions to modern society. They're funny but getting predictable. This past episode the jokes felt forced and not organic. I think they honestly don't know what to do with Katrina. She isn't being utilized properly and the subplot of her staying with Headless is tedious because 1) Headless isn't stupid nor patient 2) There's no forward movement. I am definitely not interested in a tri with the sisters over Hawley nor one with Headless and Ichabod over Katrina. I've been reading posts from various boards stating that SL is becoming a rip off of "Supernatural". That's never a good thing. Last week Henry was only shown at the end to grind a piece of artifact into dust and look menacing. Such a waste. And I can't say enough they need to get back to the bond between Ichabod and Abbie. Abbie comes off as patronizing, it's as if she only tolerates Ichabod most times. It's a far cry from the season premiere where their bond was showcased beautifully.

If Katrina doesn't fall in love with Death/Abraham and turn evil then this show is wasting my time.

Who is this Hawley character and why is he even on the show? It's like the EP said, "we need someone the dudebros can relate to so we can bring in a different demographic". I am unimpressed!

I am also upset that they have marginalized Captain Irving. Is he or is he not one of the leads on this show?

I like the monster of the week. I just need it all to tie into a main over arching plot.

I loved the Abbie-centric episode lastweek Monday. It was great to have the Mills sisters front and center for a change and it was pretty emotional, which was surprising. When they were saying their goodbyes to the mother and the guys were standing around looking clueless would it have hurt the writers to throw a bone to the Ichabbie shippers and have the guys comfort them instead of the sisters embracing each other? Sheesh!

Still wondering what ever happened to The Kindred demon they summoned. Apparently he's still wondering around aimlessly.

Ugh what a shoddy mess this show has become. I feel like it's written by people who don't like or understand sci-fi/fantasy. I'd already made my decision to quit but this finale showed me that was a good idea. The writer for this show reminds me a lot of Ron Carlivati: immature, petty and drunk on his own arrogance but mostly just untalented. He doesn't have the vision or commitment that genre shows require nor does he have the self-awareness to realize that. Damn. So much wasted potential.

Now that Hawley's gone he's the least of the show's problems. Last week they had Jenny mention Crane and Abby weren't spending much time together simply to appease the audience. Katrina is everywhere. She's like a distant relative who overstayed her welcome. Abbie is now playing second fiddle to Katrina to solve everything. It's absolutely ridiculous that they now cannot make a uniform decision without consulting Katrina for her infinite wisdom in magical prowess. If the writers think the solution to falling ratings is making the show episodic rather than serial they're delusional. I've come to the conclusion that the dynamics that made the show so unique and refreshing in season 1 is never coming back.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
