As long as you keep posting unnecessary crap I'll keep pointing it out. This board isn't your twitter, John.

So question, does PP own the character of Skye then since she originated on AMC? would Valentini need PP's permission to use her if they wanted to bring her back to GH?

AMC, and Wisner Washam and Lorraine Broderick, created Skye. However, Bob Guza and Chuck Pratt created her baby, Lila Rae. Working that out should be fun for everyone involved. :)

I don't think so. Anna's point of origin, if you will, occurred on GH. They created the character, so they "own" her. If AMC wanted her back, they'd have to negotiate with ABC.

You can thank Angela "Synergy" Shapiro for this mess.

This I think is neither here nor there. I would LOVE to see the return or new Wolek's much more than any of these three characters, frankly. But...

The same could be asked about why GH cares so much about the characters when they have done next to nothing for ratings and GH could always bring back some Hardys. The fact is for whatever reason (I certainly don't know what--but I know you're a fan,) RH as Todd is a VERY popular actor/character in the soap fan community. ME, even more baffling to me, must have a big fan base too since he always makes those lame magazine polls. They were both on the show when OLTL went off the air, and while PP hopes to bring back long lost fans and attract new fans, their immediate goal is to bring back the people who watched the show when it was canceled. These are recognizable actors and faces for those fans (look at all the crap the shows are already getting from fans claiming they are unrecognizable--and ones specifically wondering where Todd is--sadly, IMHO, you don't read the same clueless soap fans crying about not seeing Larry Wolek in the cast photos.)

I agree that at this point its petty, and PP should have paid more attention to what was going on the last year. It very well could be though that when the writers finally came in (Dec or Jan I guess?) PP just assumed they'd have all the characters per their agreement and wrote for them. I am pretty sure they knew what happened to Cole and Star, but of course now they're trying to amp up all their damages--and I do agree that it comes off as ridiculous (even if I think legally and technically they are right) and they should only have focused on the stuff like domain names and advertising.

But to suggest that these actors and characters have zero importance for the reboot (again, as much as I'm glad to have them gone) and instead they should create new fan favorites out of the Woleks misses the point completely.

I asked this 10 or so pages back lol. But I think it gets into how complex (and frankly stupid) all of this can get.

At this point, I would say Skye, as loathe as I am to say this, is a GH character. When the license was made she was a GH character for all intents and purposes. But technically I'm sure it could be argued--and I suspect when PP and ABC made the licensing agreement they even thought to bother going back and looking for characters like Skye who are a gray line as to what show they "belong" and come with. Maybe GH now should use Skye as a bargaining chip and make some sort of trade tongue.png "I raise you an Anna and Skye for a John and Todd!" -- a trade BTW I would be more than pleased with. (But PP doesn't seem to be aware of this if they do somehow have rights to her--if they brought up the Thomas nonsense, and the actor was never even on screen, than they certainly would have mentioned Skye's return last year.)

Skye Quartermaine is a GH character but I would argue (or more accurately, I would tell my lawyer to argue) that Skye Chandler is an AMC character. It would be a win-win for me if they brought back Skye by fixing her parentage. The issue around Lilah Rae could be handled by either killing her off (which I am definitely NOT suggesting) or saying that Skye sent her into hiding to protect her from Lorenzomas.

But, sigh..., the Skye issue doesn't matter since she's not coming back to AMC. Even though I think she would be a perfect addition.

    • I’m thoroughly confused why she won’t say anything to Joss. Joss obviously has no intention of telling her.

    • Ted also stays at the hotel and Vernon is probably aware of that. As much as Ted wants to be back in Nicole's good graces he might feel obligated to tell if he saw Vernon coming out of a woman's room since keeping secrets got him in so much trouble before.
    • One more thing on Tuesday's episode, did anyone else notice the weird blocking? Belle and Eric were thanking Sarah, and worrying about Lyme Disease (which must be a red herring, I can't believe we're watching a PSA about inspecting for tics).  Then, Belle turned to EJ and threatened him with a lawsuit.  EJ acted as if he hadn't heard the entire conversation that was happening two inches away from him.   I like EJ, but a little of silly/mean EJ goes a long way.  His sarcasm during that scene felt out of place, regardless of Eric's presence.  When he bugs his eyes, and feigns innocence, it is a little too OTT for my taste.  I understand that he was the punching bag for most scenes, but EJ feels more mature than resorting to funny faces.  Isn't rather quick to worry about Stephanie's sales, she just debuted the book yesterday in their timeline?  And why is everyone against Jada and Theo?  Jada could use a boytoy, and this doesn't feel like a "forever" romance.
    • I dont think he knew Leslie was staying there. I know this is all for the drama and mess which Im here for, but Vernon really could have easily rented a small studio space where he and Sharon could practice lol.
    • I understand that no one could ever replace Bernau, but Ron Raines is somewhat of a different beast. Still great (to me) though. He spent his entire TV run in one role, that was impossible to do justice correctly.
    • Again, Bernau's illness impacted that. It's pretty obvious Pilon was always meant to be temporary. I read an article from that period that said he was working on both Ryan's Hope and GL at the same time. So he wasn't on contract for either show. (Maybe that explains somewhat why his performance was so low energy, because he was overworked doing two soaps). Later, they put him in the opening and in commercials for the show. That must have been because they were certain Bernau was not returning. Around that time, they approached Zaslow about being the permanent replacement for Bernau. He turned them down and suggested coming back as Roger. Pilon stayed so they could re-introduce Roger and write an exit for Alan. I'm guessing if MZ had not wanted to come back, they would have had no choice but to keep Pilon (which I don't think they wanted, or maybe Pilon wasn't interested) or send out a casting call for a new Alan. I think they wanted to avoid that because they were really determined not to let the nature of Bernau's illness to become public knowledge. At this point, they were still keepin up the fiction that he was going to return even while this stuff was happening BTS.   Yeah, it seems crazy now, but people forget how stigmatized AIDS was back then. I'm convinced the idea to ask Zaslow to take the role came about so they could replace Bernau as quietly as possible. Everyone would have been so surprised it would have taken the focus off Bernau not returning. It makes a kind of twisted sense. Still, thank goodness Zazlow said no and they said yes to his suggestion to return as Roger. The way everything worked out gave GL a few more strong years. I guess it's the nature of soaps, you never know what things in real life will end up strongly impacting the show, both negatively and positively. (Something just occurred to me. If Zazlow HAD said yes to playing Alan...he would have had to play being in love with Reva.
