As soon as the Nick/Phyllis affair started, Morrow made it clear that he preferred to work with Stafford over Case. He made some pretty sharp comments in interviews. Case was still pushing the Nick/Sharon belong together line and seemed put off by Morrow's attitude in her interviews. I think he even apologized to her at one point. I am convinced that something went wrong between them and he took it personally so he was happy to get away from Case and move on with Stafford. The Nick/Sharon fans get angry if he says anything remotely nice about Michelle or Nick's relationship with Phyllis...and the Nick/Phyllis fans are the same way when he says things like Nick and Sharon being this Romeo/Juliet pairing. He needs to not worry about offending one fan base or the other and just keep answering the questions he's asked as honestly as he can (or when he's doing a video like the 40th anniversary clip).
