Oh, good grief. Of course he's not reliable! Ryan/Omar/whoever used to post here, didn't he? He knows that as well as anyone! Hell, a couple weeks ago Nelson Branco was telling us John Stamos was on GH! Branco's record went south quite some time ago, long before he was fired from TV Guide Canada, which I sort of envision as the last waystation of the netherworld before one slips into the bowels of Hell. Or maybe that's TV Guide Abbottabad. I'd heard rumors about John and Starr being recast, but not Todd. Certainly not after they slap 'im into the opening.

I miss the days when all the barely-employed "online soap reporters" and ol' Branco were hissing and snapping at each other. That was at least entertaining. The conventional wisdom that Nelson Branco could never get it wrong was put to the test at least two or three years ago and found wanting even then.

How does that even work? He's a regular on both soaps or a regular on one and more or less recurring on the other? Considering both tape on opposite coasts, commuting and scheduling is something to worry about as it seems like it would be hard to imagine him playing major characters on both since I assume his primary commitment is GH

My impression is that the PP schedule of 5 weeks on/off for each show is what makes that viable.

Lest we forget, both shows will have him onscreen at the same time over the next several weeks, so the old rules no longer apply.

LOL, I'm pretty sure that was on purpose/staged to be "funny"/"ironic," especially considering the upside down 1. I think PP wouldn't have let it go out otherwise.

The other thing about filming is apparently GH has a one-week hiatus in its shooting every month, so that's a time when Howarth could fly back to the East Coast to tape OLTL.

Nelson is also shocked that Trevor St. John "lied" to him about not going back. And he thought the OLTL characters would all feature in the Nurses Ball. So, you know, grain of salt. I could go on, there's a long list of duds he's churned out in the last few years, particularly since he made the big move to pay-per-view Unabomber pamphlet newsletter.

This appears to be the "real" #1, with RH doing the Blue Steel.

    • Same This show can be so frustrating to watch because of the awful one sided writing.
    • It was quite interesting. Drew is seriously grossing me out. I know they'll never get rid of CM, but this brewing up to a good murder mystery.
    • But their scenes are always fun...given whom HW name is on the top that day.
    • I had to hit FF the minute he showed up on the screen. It's too much.
    • Oh, yes! It's Nurse Ball Week, isn't it?   Lord give me strength...or apparently a good catfight going by the above.
    • It's still dragged though. Nina and Carly's fight was good, and although it was intensely weird, I actually paid attention to the Curtis and Drew scenes.
    • Dante STFU!! Gawd this Gio hate is so forced. Dante blame your idiot son! He's responsible for landing in the hospital.
    • I think Steve and Chase (with Adair) are dropped fairly quickly into John Whitsell's run as EP. I didn't think Tomlin wanted those characters out especially given how much effort was put into resetting Chase, a character Tomlin didn't create, and Adair by placing them at the paper, testing Adair with Ryder, and then having Chase discover Estelle was alive. Steve got an actual onscreen goodbye, but Chase and Adair later go an offscreen exit to San Francisco or somewhere else in California.  They chem tested Steve Kendall and Suzi in September, 1983, just as Elizabeth Swankhammer started as Suzi. Steve saved Suzi drowning in a lake on location. I felt that Suzi / Steve was meant to be the post-Suzi/Warren story with Stephanie possibly manipulating Suzi and Warren to keep both Warren / Wendy and Steve / Suzi apart. I assumed the plan was (at some point) Stephanie / Lloyd. Or it should have been.  I don't think Bela should have lasted beyond the circus story. If I had to sit through some sort of triangle, I would want to see it end with Bela dead. Even in a bad recycled plot, but ultimately I don't think Bela had any real story potential and should never have been paired with either woman. Under Mayer/Braxton, Sarah became more conservative and judgemental over the course of the last month or so of their run. I don't think Tomlin's version was as layered from what I remember.  @DRW50 I think Conroy lasted a full year June, 1984 - July, 1985. I always assumed he left, but that was just speculation. Phillip Brown's Steve just seems to have disappeared.      Cook played Lloyd's first wife and Steve's mother, who was named something other than Estelle, in a flashback sequence to reveal the secret that Martin was Steve's father. She had a name other than Estelle at that point. This would have been fall of 1983.
    •   Vanessa is bordering on nasty ho territory. Normally I agree with you @Soapsuds but not on this. Dani opened up to Andre about her insecurities since the end of her marriage, and Andre listened and supported her. Their booty call hook ups are so turning into love.
