AMC: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

People are free to their opinions even if we don't like the negativity or, on the other hand, the positivity. Also, unlike deciding you hate a character or actor before the show airs, it makes sense to have issues with your favorite(s) not being asked back as long as you don't harp on it until the end of time.

Definitely, although I kinda wish they'd have the decorum not to bug an *actor* on the show about it.

Maybe they can stick him with this Jane woman and later it come out that she's his twin sister. That's never been done before on daytime so maybe the internet could push those boundaries

....Just my opinion, but please not. I find the Bill Bell "almost incest" soap cliche bad enough.

LOL, gross. Stick who? David? I would prefer David and Cara to be together as the show starts.

I think if Greenlee ever came back, they could pair her with a returned Trey Kenyon (which would also mean more famiily for David, and for Kendall or Kendall's kids if they are on). I could see her in a "cougar"-type relationship with one of the younger characters on the show too. I see a lot more potential with Greenlee than others here do, and plenty of chances for fresh starts while remaining true to the character. She has a whole sketched background with her family that could still be mined as well. Maybe Mary could have a health scare and Greenlee could have closure on her relationship with her mom.

I am a massive Greenlee defender--often to my embarassment, but while I'd be game for her to come on away from Ryan, I think it's very wise that we take a break from her. (I feel the same way, though less strongly, about Kendall--recast or with AM.)

That would be a very Agnes Nixon thing to do: Greenlee gave up the kid (in 1998-1999) because she didn't want to be a mother and it was too late to abort. I always got the sense Agnes didn't like the females being apologetic about their rightful choices as women; the right to choose your career over having a family, the right to abort. I think I remember hearing she didn't want the Kendall connection done for Erica because it would "reason" out why Erica was like she was and she just wanted Erica to be who she was because that's who she is. I sided with McTavish on this particular plot point though as it gave Erica more layers and added a whole new level of story to the show.

Not doubting here--but I'd love to know where you read that? There's always speculation about that era as to what Agnes liked or didn't--and I see people spin it either way depending on which stories they liked.

I think this is on purpose. Position Julia Barr and Debbi as the new central women to AMC, and watch La Lucci get so jealous that she can't help but not agree to return to the show tongue.png

HaHa! I could see that.laugh.png

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but you wonder if some of these actors are gonna tweet things like this EVERY day they go to work tongue.png

Hope so! I wish I felt that way about my work. Their tweets may also give away who they're working with -- nothing that surprising so far.

Debbi is tweeting a lot and choosing what to answer. I don't know if this person continued to the point of harping because I can't keep up with Debbi. I think it was just a communication and she/he was reasonable from what I remember.

For the life of me, I can't remember. I feel pretty confident I read it in one of the soap publications back then but I'm not 100%.

Emotional photo-graphical blackmail, lol.

Please... When I started working at Starbucks I was like "OMG! I COULD BE HERE 24 HOURS A DAY! I LOVE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!"

Then the caffeine wore off. At the end of 2 years I was ready to be out! That's not to mean they'll hate PP. I'm just saying, newness = enthusiasm... then we realize the one we're married to leaves crumbs in the butter like our father used to do and that's it! We're done!

LOL. Exactly. I'm sure the tweets will eventually die down to the usual, though they might be encouraged to keep a strong Twitter presence to help promote the show. It'd be smart to really use it to their advantage.

Debbi Morgan: I think the S/L they're doing involving the Hubbards is timely, thrilling, & going 2B very very emotional & yes, I'm happy!

Eric Nelsen: Just wrapped & finished my official first week in Pine Valley. Lots more to come. Ive never been happier. Cant wait for you guys to see it!

Interesting article if Disney were to take over ownership of Hulu they want it to be free with paid advertising while news corp wants to keep it subscription based

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/news-corp-disney-discussing-strategy-425714

I can't imagine it ever truly being free with paid advertising

Stranger things have happened! Two years ago, Id never have believed that AMC would be cancelled and then resurrected on Hulu and look where we are now
