That's so funny that you mentioned that cause I also thought it was weird that Starr got the first and longest mourning scene for Trey

Btw, I know it has to do with episode guarantees and transitioning new characters in for the week's storylines but replacing the Webbers with Patrick was too bizarre, especially since yesterday was a cliffhanger moment and Steve was the news bearer. They've gotta make those cast changes/omissions that occur for no rhyme or reason (in story) less glaring. It also often occurs when huge weddings or other events happen and noticeable on canvas people are missing and there is some ridiculously weak explanation given for their absence. This is such a soap staple that it deserves a term like SORAS lol.

I hate to criticize the way an actor looks, especially since I get tired of the typical guys FV seems to like to have parade around shirtless (at least judging more by his OLTL), but since I despise this character and this ludicrous storyline-- +1

They, particularly Ford Ford (I can't even remember his real first name) are attractive but in such a generic 80s waxed, oiled gay porn way. It just kinda gets dull. Now Brody on the other hand... (though it seemed that at some point they even started waxing him...)

Remember? Brody came on as an abusive drunk that was hired by Adrianna to pose as Gigi's real baby daddy so she could keep Rex? :P It was a FV/RC hire...

I know it's been mentioned, but that Todd "I have a daughter her name is Starr" bit of Dr Seuss nonsense coming back to haunt us musthave been some sort of middle finger from RC to online posters... I wonder what non OLTL viewers made of it (or these endless Vickerman mentions...)

This has probably been mentioned, but... One thing that bugs me on soaps is when people don't just get drunk, but get full on black out, passed out drunk and then seem to have a hangover for about 5 minutes--granted it's usually for plot. But... Also wouldn't it have been kinda hard for Spinelli to fully umm perform if he had drank bottles of champagne and a full bottle of schnapps? I mean I've had drunk sex before, but not that drunk...unsure.png

(And now I wish I had never had that thought)

i prefer him with her. A few weeks ago when they had him planted in the AJ/Michael story without her, I realized how unlikeable he can be. I love their love and the writing for them as a couple has been good this past year. I think they make each other better

    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
    • Still here ^^ Come on Prime Video, it's due to bring it back!
    • Got through the eighth season, and it was... painful.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
