HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Looks like former AMC (and later ATWT) producer Carole Shure has been added to AMC's production team:

I figured she would be involved somehow as PP hired her as a consultant the first time around to write up budget proposals, find studio space etc

I have no doubt Chris Goutman is on the phone with her as we speak, trying to get a directing spot.

How the mighty have fallen.

I remember her as someone who was highly respected. David Canary thanked her in one of his Emmy speeches for putting together his reel.

I recall that as well.

Issues with Goutman aside, I thought ATWT had a pretty solid production team and I think she was his second-in-command there. Minus when they started going outside more near the end the show looked good IMO.

ATWT had some sort of budget stuff I always wondered about - for instance, how they could afford to keep so many very tenured vets around, and most of them on contract. I know they probably took big pay cuts but you never heard the huge contract drama or firings or recurring controversies you did with most other soaps, including their (once upon a time) sister show GL.

I just think most of the ATWT kept a lot of things close to the vest. Only after the show ended did you hear a tiny tidbit or two about backstage dynamics from vets like Eileen Fulton and Martha Byrne. I think the most telling though was in Larry Brygmann's departure-- if memory serves me correctly, that was primarily about salary! Larry felt he had to downgrade one too many times (he didn't have much storyline by then either, I believe) and he was outta there (lol). Of course, having a successful B'way career probably made it easier for him to say goodbye.

Yep I won't pay to watch either AMC or OLTL, and i have a feeling alot won't either. If true it's most likely going to be hulu plus, I'm sure they'll want to get something out of the deal

Jamey has amended his earlier report about Carole Shure: She is working with PP on the AMC reboot but hasn't been hired on as a producer.

Sigh..rumors...false info...any wonder why I dont buy any of this crap about PP putting the shows online 2.0....dont buy it.

Hulu is free.

Id be shocked if watching the two shows if they ever make it online would be free...totally shocked.
