HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

How can we say they are stomping on the legacies when they havent even aired an episode yet. How bout watching before saying its a failure

Exactly! We don't know what is going to happen yet. Everyone just needs to calm down and wait and see what happens before bitching about every little piece of news that they can scrounge up. We should be happy about this and support their efforts. When they actually do crap all over the legacies, then you can bitch.

You would think that now that PP have "officially" announced that they are manning the AMC/OLTL Facebook pages that they would go in and delete all the ABC and SOAPnet mentions (logos and such) that are still on the pages from the TV run.

Have they taken over the old pages or launched new ones? I looked but there are so many one-off fan pages I didn't feel like clicking in on all of them.

I don't think they ever gave a specific year they were in after that If I remember right

They didn't as far as I remember. That's the best thing to do. Mention it's 5 years since the shooting a couple of times and move on without trying to explain it too much.

It's a lot like Erica & Kendall for me - as long as they don't constantly mention they're 14-15 years apart for story purposes (and that would include trying to take Erica's age down at least two decades), the fact that they don't LOOK like that doesn't bother me.

When I see it on screen then it can be decided to support it or not, they don't get my automatic support just because they're resurrecting these shows. Show me they can do this and do it right, then they have my support.

SOme of us don't give them support "just because"....

And some of us remain loyal to our shows no matter how good or bad they may be at times....although that doesn't mean that we can't complain. It just means that we don't give up on them and continue to support them.

Or give up on them solely based on speculation. I'm willing to give them a chance. I'm not blindly supporting them just because but I refuse to crap all over them before one episode even has a chance to air.

Teen stories involving Kanes/Chandlers with Agnes's input have the potential to be so much better than some of the more recent and vapid teen characters on the last decade of AMC. Agnes was always great at young love.

I don't know about that. Her Scott & Becca thing was pretty damn bad.

Yeah I guess AMC could say 5 years later & not specify a date and that way crossovers with OLTL could still make sense if they chose to do them

I think Bianca has to be on the show in some form if Erica and Kendall will not be on the show at the start. I mean where will Miranda live? Opal's basement?

Opal's boarding house.

I can't wait for the PV teen stories! It seems were going to have Kane/Montgomery/Chandler teen stories, I just love it! If its a 5 year jump that's awesome too, it'll be interesting to see how things changed. And JR waking up from a coma? Maybe he shot himself? Can't wait for details on all this icon1.gif

My OCD is giving me a fight about accepting such a leap in the space-time continuum, but I'll get over it. It's fiction. And potentially very interesting. Now, will both AMC and OLTL jump five years ahead?

I agree that there needs to be a strong teen scene. AMC has boasted some of the best teen characters and storylines in soap history, so hopefully they can recapture that with the help of Agnes Nixon's ghostwriting creative input. If we are indeed talking Miranda and A.J. here, at least they are aided by being attached to the show's most famous characters, not to mention their very interesting birth/backstory.

This is gonna suck so damn bad. Period. The end.

!@#$%^&*] it.

I'm not going to watch a bunch of damned high schoolers run around destroying the memory of Pine Valley. Nope, nope, [!@#$%^&*] nope.

AMC started with high schoolers. AMC's most popular period beyond that (early 80s) focused heavily on high schoolers.

I don't like high school stories either, but this defined AMC more than almost any other soap. I just hope it works this time.

But, that does happen IRL. Alot. Matthew seems like he's going to be a total POS. (Which, he kinda was anyways) and basically a deatbeat. So, I'm not gonna judge Des.

I don't think Matthew was ever someone who would abandon his child and stop by to use the mother for sex. That offends me more than anything else with these reboots so far.

AMC hasn't done a good teen story since the 90's.
