The whole who was worse is so very subjective and it's about the decline of a show and who helped drive it down faster. RC was supposed to be the one who knew the show's history oh so well and would save it but he didn't. He doesn't deserve all of the blame but regardless of where soaps are headed, he drove it down at a speed below whatever Dena Higley did. I don't if he would have taken the same route or accelerated the decline of the show had he been the replacement instead of DH. He just might have because that whole Todd/Marty s/l was perverse. Michael Malone probably seems infinitely better now but I know people don't like how RJ was handled in the McBain/Evangeline relationship. I don't really care about that and given a choice, I would take him over either successor because the most annoying thing I can recall that he wrote was that whole Santi fiasco. No matter how funny I thought El Tiburon and that plastic knife or sword was. Tico, Tico, Tico. I am sure if I remembered more I might change my mind because I'm thinking he was behind that dreadful Antonio sleeping with Keri's mother and the ultimate destruction of Keri...

Yes Higley was bad, she was also long gone by the time OLTL was canceled and did not leave damage that was so bad that the show couldn't have been turned around. RC just gave more of the same crap piled with new crap for the next few years he was in charge. That's not on Higley that's on him and FV. Higley was busy trashing DAYS by that point.

When all that's left to debate is who sucks more, I think we can pretty much call time of death on the genre.

I'm seeing a bit of excitement on Twitter for the David Hayward mention. There's a part of me that would cut Ron Carlivati with a sharpened rock if he even so much as thought about touching AMC characters but the other part of me likes seeing the appreciation for VI and David Hayward. There's only a handful of actors - AMC and OLTL combined - that could make me consider tuning in to RC's crap. VI is one of them.

I consider Spencer Truman the turning point for OLTL. Although I have quite a bit of affection for Paul Satterfield for a variety of reasons.

Dont know if anybody feels the way I do but the script writing today is so embarrassing! I keep imagining my soap hating friends watching with me and laughing at everything! I stopped watching for about 2 weeks BTW and I am really noticing the imperfections people are noticing.

For a while I though David would be good on GH but at the rate everything is know I hope to God he stays away!
