NBC poised to fire Ann Curry from the Today show

Great article, thanks for posting. Sexism is rampant in the media. Look at how the outside company found that it was Lauer's negative reaction to Curry that was the problem, but the executives instead of telling him to stop it and work harder to get along with her, they decide that she must be the problem. They could have worked with her some more, if they felt that she was so bad and if Matt cared and was supportive, it would show on the screen so when she was fired it would not have gone so badly.

This is delicious. I can't get enough.

Cooper would actually be a good fit for Today, as long as he isn't too serious or too ridiculous, like getting into feuds with Real Housewives.

I can picture him calling Cooper up, which is even more pathetic.

So much for Today wanting to be less trashy and more lighthearted. That Sandusky stuff is pure tabloid.

I would love to see Cooper on Today instead of Matt....I might watch again....

I think Savannah needs to go. The show is being far too safe with it's choices. If you've ever seen Weekend Today, you'd see they have a MUCH better team. Lester Holt, who is a genius and Erica Hill from Anderson Cooper 360 and also the CBS This Morning. They can do the light and the heavy stuff and have an easy chemistry. I'd look at moving either one of them to the main show. Other good choices are Tamron Hall and Hoda Kotb, but I believe Hoda is too associated with that 4th hour to do the main show. Willie Geist is nice, but comes off too phony IMO.

I have seen Lester Holt. I have to agree that he comes off very smart and personable. He has a very likeable tv personality. If NBC was smart which it is not, it would try him out in the Today chair for a while.

Yes, Lester Holt is great...if only his first name wasn't 'Lester'...Les Holt, now that's a morning show anchor's name.

The entire Today lineup, aside from Al Roker who is the only positive PR that show has, should be fired. Kathie Lee and Hoda have their magically ghetto, alcohol soaked 4th hour that has a cult-like following and should probably be left alone.

Producers said Couric thought Curry was melodramatic and, in a word that one used, “fake.”

Couric of all people saying this cracks me up.

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I love that Bell ultimately met the same fate as Curry, waiting for the axe to fall. I do think that she wasn't the best fit for the job, but they treated her like garbage. The smugness of that network exudes every pore.

Pat Fili-Krushel. Man, that name takes me back.
