Alexis was better written under GW than she is under RC.

I think almost everyone was (I'm one of the few GW defenders), I was just surprised that he was the one to reinsert Alexis into the mob.

Regarding Michael/Chad Duell . . . I think he's a real cutie. Regardless of whether he's a smoldering soap hunk or a boy next door, I think he's really good looking, but he photographs horribly! I think TPTB give Michael enough requisite 'soap hunk' shirtless scenes, but ITA with whoever posted that production doesn't emphasize his sexuality. I don't know that it's to his detriment, though . . . Scott Clifton really suffered from this during his GH days, IMO. So much so that I can't behind B&B's portrayal of him as their lead young male--don't know if it's because I find the actor unsexy or because GH ingrained it in me that Dillon (and by extension, SC) is just not a sexual character.

As far as Alexis' mothering is concerned . . . I don't know WTF happened to her. In '08 and at the beginning of his actual head-writing stint, GW was calling a spade a spade with the mob, so I don't know WHAT he was thinking by robbing Alexis of all her integrity (and, IMO, she was one of the few characters through Guza to keep most of her integrity in tact)?!? The reversals of Alexis Davis and Kate Howard under GW (that's so much more overemphasized now under RC) were so sad. If I were any three of Alexis' daughters listening to her rhetoric for years, I'd lose any and all respect for her now that she's back up Sonny & Jason's asses.

Agreed with everything in this post.

One last Steve Burton comment--I wasn't paying much attention to GH the past few (ok more than a few) years, but I swear I read that he didn't like doing shirtless scenes for "religious reasons". Am I making that up or confusing him with someone else? Maybe all the net critique of him getting "fat" finally pushed him over the edge...

Well that just makes the mirror shot about ten times more ridiculous. Maybe his unhappy looking expression was because he was sad inside at being tempted to betray God. :(

I don't know what thread to put this in but is anyone else distracted by the overly blonde and overly processed hair on both Kristen Alderson and Kate Sullivan? I just kept staring at it during theri scenes.

I can't help liking Starr/Michael, although I don't have any great interest in their relationship or story. Michael is a little [!@#$%^&*] but somehow ends up being the most likeable guy on the show.

I agree with you about Starr/Michael on all counts. Of course now we'll get Trey in the middle somehow trying to manipulate it (maybe RC will have him lose his funding for his reality show with his dad in jail and have to produce porn with Starr being blackmailed into it!)

I've heard a lot of positive talk about Trey/Starr (as I did about Rick/Starr - I think Starr is such an "innocent" that some viewers like the idea of her being sexually exploited) so I imagine the show will go there. Trey is a knockoff of every sleaze Carlivati drooled over on OLTL, so I don't care.

Absolutely. He's a "hot", fun loving sleaze--who of course we'll find out had a tragic childhood (I have little doubt even Rick would have turned out to be sexually abused by his male nanny or something if OLTL had lasted longer).

Yeah I've read this repeatedly over the years re: his limitation of "love scenes" his affiliation must give an OK for him to shoot guns & kill on screen but heaven forbid he takes off his shirt.

Burton's reasons for not taking off his shirt has varied over the years. It goes from his religion to his being out of shape to his not wanting to be a beefcake. The fan chatter about him being fat has been going on for years. He would even admit to putting on weight after eating tons chicken wings during football season leading to him have to get back in shape. This is why I think that Michael Easton's presence and John and Sam's growing online fan support are the real reasons that Burton took that picture.

May I ask a question about the whole "John's dead sister" story? Has there been any lip service given to John and his living, breathing brother Michael? I'm not saying they should bring on Marcie/Michael. (Absolutely not.) and I know that John's cheating whore of a dad apparently asked him to keep it a secret. (Because nothing says Father of the Year" like asking your teenage son to cover for your slutting around. Way to go Papa McBain!) But just from a writing standpoint I want to know, has there been any mention at all from John that he's told the truth to his brother or their perpetually traveling mom?

Nope, never mentioned.

actually it has. John never told Michael about the sister bc their father didnt want him to. Their father cheated on their mother and then was a deadbeat to this sister. John kept the secret bc he didnt want to disgrace his father's memory in his brother's eyes. John kept it to himself until he was old enough to go looking for and reach out to her. With her dying soon after, it really didnt seem right to tell them about any of this so he kept it to himself until he re-encountered Sonny, whom he assumed was the killer here in PC
