GH: Discussion for the Month of June

I certainly did NOT understand where she was coming from when she blamed a completely innocent man, who had been very kind to her, of abuse - in order to protect the disgusting pig that was beating her. Had she said she didn't know/see who had beaten her, I would have understood - as I know many abuse victims protect their abusers at first. But ruining Ethan's life? The man she claimed to love so much? Yeah - no sympathy from me.

and she pretended to be having an affair with Johnny even though he was seeing Olivia just so she could get back at Sonny. Alot of the awful things she does is bc of hating Sonny. This seems right in line with it. Its a rather tame and lame revenge attempt. She has done worse in the past.

Thank you! Bitch has done worse. Nearly getting Ethan killed, nearly RUINING his life and reptuation labelling him a beater of a teenage girls is far worse than this basic plot. Getting a reality show bc she's pissed at her parents seems like nothing in comparison to what she was doing before she left for Yale. Being a bratty reality show twit hardly destroys her as a character

I think the problem, beyond the acting, is that she seems to have a lot of contempt for Alexis, Sam, and Molly.

Yeah I don't like that. Molly and Kristina were always very close, and I got the feeling Kristina loved and looked up to Sam very much when Lexi was in the role. As for Alexis, I know they bickered, but the way the character used to be written - I always felt that, at the end of the day, Kristina loved Alexis very much and thought her to be a good Mom.

She hasnt shown any contempt for Molly or Sam. She is upset with Alexis bc she admitted to being in league with Sonny as far as the Yale debacle went down. Outside of her debut episode, she's had great interactions with her sisters, especially in the last 2 weeks where she rallied behind Sam and her ordeal

She's still using Sam and her dead baby to fuel her reality television show. No matter how contemptible Kristina once was you always felt that she cared about other people. I don't even get that anymore. She's all about selling people out to the highest bidder in order to make this stupid reality tv show work because she was laughed at, at school. There's no reason for her to do half of the stuff she has been doing lately.

Yes, Kristina has always been kind of a self-involved bitch, and now that's heightened. But this whole thing is completely out of character. Even though she's always been a brat, Kristina DID always seem to care about her education and her future. Now, just because her dad pulled some strings to get her into college, she's giving up on her education completely to be a reality show bimbo?

She lashed out at Trey when he suggested the cameras roll when she found out about Sam's baby and she refused to bring him to the hospital. She's kept Sam out of the spotlight and expressed how it wasnt okay to use her sister's grief.

It's funny how when characters in soaps today do something that the audience doesn't like, it's the writers trying to ruin the character and not just a progression of the character itself. I absolutely hate Kristina, but it stops there. I hated her before, hate her now, never found one thing about her interesting. I don't blame the writers for "ruining" the character though. She is just a character who does things that I don't like. End of story.

I think it is possible for a writer to ruin a character. With one like Kristina who doesn't have that much history, while I feel like they are writing against what we saw before, I'm not screaming. When they do this to a long term character whose been on for over 5 years, I do get frustrated.

I don't understand what you mean by "soaps today." Fans have been criticizing writers for ruining characters for many years - if you go back to magazines from 35 years ago, 40 years ago, you will see the same.

How is Kristina repeating a story from several years ago and being bitchy and cold to everyone for no real reason "progression"? Why should fans not complain about this?

Lexi was maturing Kristina and developing deep relationships. This chick is playing it one note and abrasive. IMO the biggest mistake they made with Lexi's Kristina was not pursuing Ethina. Trash TV is not the way to go with this girl who has had some serious trauma in her life and has had to work through it. Her father making it easy for her to get into Yale is reason to rebel? Seriously? Totally OOC. This is a character who has lived with feet in two worlds, not feeling connected to either but struggling to find her personal "normal". Lexi seemed to understand that struggle and kept the character swinging between both extremes, and eventually finding a connection with Ethan that was leading her to someplace solid. That has been lost completely.

I enjoyed the Heather/Todd scenes, he seems to be a little affraid of her...lol

I love it. Its rare to see another character complete own him like this. On OLTL he always tended to have the upperhand and be the main antagonist but now he has someone above him with even more power.
