To me, it shows laziness and utter contempt for fans not to at least explain this one.

Uh it was Kirk. Don't remember why but it was a lame reason. Oh mid-90s ATWT... the little show that couldn't. I feel like after that storyline the show was finally done with its brutal era though and improved a lot in the late-90s.

They revealed the Ernesto/Hope one. I'm not sure on the exact details, but Stefano had Greta take Hope's place and that is when he took Hope and transformed her into Princess Gina.

I always thought it was a huge waste that John went to his grave without finding out about Ashley.

Wow, did this really happen? I had no idea Rita potentially had Ed or Alan's child out there. What a waste that the show never revisited this.

I always bring this example up in threads like this, but Iris on AW being unjustly imprisoned and the Evan recast having set her up kind of fits this category. Although the show was such a mess that it was more like a dirty little secret that everyone in town knew but ignored by the time Evan was "redeemed." I can't remember if Amanda knew/suspected that he framed her half-sister for trying to kill her mother's husband when she hooked up with Evan again. Then they left town a few months later. I had stopped watching by the time Amanda was recast again...did they ever say what happened between her and Evan? Considering that was when Amanda hated Rachel being with Carl about as much as Iris had, you'd think that if she and Evan parted on bad terms and had any inkling that he set Iris up, she would have helped clear Iris and put Evan behind bars, so she'd have an ally to help break up Carl and Rachael.

Yes Rita's pregnancy was one of the best missed opportunities that GL had. At one point, years after Lenore Kasdorf left GL, they wanted to get her back. If she had been able to return, they may have gone there, but we will never know.

I'm not entirely sure about Roman, but I think it's safe to assume Marlena was in a coma from the time of her "death" until Dee Hall returned to the show in '91.
