Nashville: Discussion Thread

I actually don't want them together so quickly. I love watching their angst. That scene outside the house ("you gave up on me") was really good.

Agreed Toups, but can't they at least tease me (us) with something until then? And I definitely agree with him and I think he'll just go ape sh!t when he basically finds out WHY she gave up on him as quick as she did when he entered that one rehab stint.

I'm still not convinced that Deacon is the father of Rayna oldest. We know that Teddy isn't but I haven't heard anyone say that Deacon is. I think Maddie father is someone else.

I doubt that Rayna was some huge slut, even back then (I know you didn't say that but that's the word that popped into mind). It makes sense and you saw how riled up they both got when her dad threatened to go to her real father and clue him in on his status. If that was someone off screen.... yeah no and there are definitely spoilers out there. Plus its an added bonus as to why Teddy loathes Deacon so much granted they each have a kid with her. Even when they had their audit before he was trying to run for Mayor and when they started asking about Deacon she zoned out and then peaced out saying she wasn't answering anymore questions.

If it was someone else there would be no big payoff from them or Teddy feeling the way he does (except threatened since that relationship is over and everyone knows it).

There's a lot we don't know about Rayna and Deacon's relationship. I'm thinking about something sexy reporter said to Deacon about "that night" before he went into rehab. "After I left, you and Vince kept drinking..." I think there's a lot to learn about "Vince."

You're right. Ooooo which ep. was this so I can go back and rewatch. I missed that line, negl I FF the hell out of scenes I don't care for if I DVR it and if I'm watching on On Demand I kinda zone out until people I care about are back on the screen. I wonder if we'll get a casting call for Vince. I know the only person that they're casting right now is for Ozzy who will be... Putting this in spoiler tags just to be on the safe side.

a sober life coach for Juliette's mother once she finishes her rehab stint and moves back in with Juliette. But from what I read he helps Juliette more.

Ah, thanks. I never knew this since I was only watching sporadically.

No worries--that's what led to COleman being found with the pills that were actually Juliette's mom's. Deacon took them when she went into rehab but didn't trust himself with them, so called Coleman who was then pulled over bythe machinations of Rayna's father

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I loved this episode, poor Juliette. I love it sometimes when Rayna schools Juliette but others I wish they had a great connection and bond that is kinda needed. So hopefully that will come about at some point in time. Poor Jolene, she just wanted to help her kid. I think she felt like it was all her fault no matter what because if she wasn't an addict then she wouldn't have needed a sober living life coach and then Dante wouldn't have come into their lives and everything would be ok. Sad she had to do all of that.

I like Avery being there for Scarlett and him sending her the whish was a sweet touch, it makes me remember why I liked him before he got a huge ego and went all douche but now that role is kinda being filled by Gunnar. I'm also proud of Scarlett for sticking to her guns and ending the relationship before it got too toxic.

Poor Maddie, finding out that Decaon's your dad that way has to be horrible and Deacon is going to go postal! I was hoping this would be how it'd all play out... I was a little worried after the creator said we wouldn't see this stuff until next season but that is just too juicy to open up a season with -- I love closing out the season with this bombshell and then letting the fallout continue on into the next season. So glad ABC renewed the show!

I can't wait for next season!

I thought it was terrific. I'm not sure why more people don't seem to be discussing Nashville. For me it's one of the few current network shows that manages to balance over the top soapy twists, with characters who actually--often granted in their own weird way, actually act like real people--ie none of them are all good or bad.

Your post makes it sound like this was the finale--we have one more episode.

(OK two things I hated--Deacon should have never given away Sue, and I just don't buy that Rayna would keep her daughter's birthinfo in a box in a not very good hiding place--or the house at all.)
