That and the story where Nick used his gay-bashing to scheme to get a man were big big mistakes. I had a lot of issues with most of the writing for Kyle and Fish, aside from some of the scenes they had alone together, and their friendships. I just wish soaps would stop writing gay stories.

OMG Peeps, this isnt Queer As Folks, its Days of our Freakin Lives LOL. Of course Gay men have slept with women after the fact, specially if they have had previous sexual relations with a woman before they came out. Steven Carrington slept with woman all in between his many gay lovers, so did Brian from QAF I think. Is it lazy, YES, is it ill timed, YES. has it been done before, YES, but its a typical soapy soap formula for any soap couple with the added gay angle. Now if Sonny were too sleep with a woman, well that would be totally out of character, Will not so much LOL. I am just happy movement is happening with these two because I have been with the "coming out" story for months LOL

That I didn't have a problem with, we see Soap characters all the time using terrible situations to their advantage. I've seen female characters use rape, pregnancies, abuse whatever to get a man. And I've seen men use a variety of different scenarios to get a woman. So that didn't bother me one bit, it was soapy. Is it wrong for people to do those things? Yes. But that's like Soap 101.

That sounds like the Zarf storyline, which I am not sure about since that romance was very limited. Bianca at most was very supportive of Zarf/Zoe (she was a transgender male who felt like a female on the inside) and she was attracted to Zoe/Zarf but I don't believe it ever went that far. I don't believe they ever even kissed.

I didn't think it was soapy, because we barely knew Nick, and he was barely ever involved with Kyle. It was basically a cipher who was on briefly, got gay-bashed, and then used his gay-bashing to help himself. It just seemed like sensationalist trash which sent out a very dangerous message. I would say the same about stories where women use rape to get a man. That's not soapy either.

The rumor was that Pratt wanted Bianca to sleep with Ryan.

    • Jane Wyman had health struggles and was written out after the first few episodes. IIRC, she went against medical advice to film the final episodes of the show. I guess they likely did think Alicia was just there as some kind of eye candy for viewers and could be replaced. As mentioned by several people in the CBS primetime soap threads, Moonves and others brought a real culture of misogyny to the shows in the mid/late '80s where every woman was seen as replaceable. I didn't realize how many times Wyman's health had been a factor in the last 4-5 seasons of the show. Here is one example. www.falconcrest.org | Deutscher FALCON CREST - Fanclub / German FALCON CREST Fan Club
    • Was Angela still on the show at that point? I think I caught some of the show on Lifetime or TNT  when they reran the series, and Angela never seemed to be on during the last season. I remember thinking it felt the like the last season was a completely different show and that Wendy Philips was too grounded of an actress (not a criticism) for a nighttime soap.    I don't understand the concept because I don't think most people channel hop. I can understand wanting Alfonso's popularity to rub off, but why engender bad feelings by firing Ana Alicia and bringing on Alfonso? Soap execs never learned that lesson. Like Ellen Parker a few years later, I don't think they realized Ana Alicia's popularity.
    • I think they tended to run the cast list once a week, but I don't know if it had a consistent day.
    • Does Search for Tomorrow ever list the cast in its end credits? I watched about fifteen videos from 1985 to look at the cast credits at the end and I never saw any except for Mary Stuart's credit. I try not to google cast members if there's a chance I might watch a soap so I don't spoil exits.
    • Jeez louise, they overdid it with the music in late 1985. Wendy's self-loathing episode on Dec. 6 is "underscored" (if we can call it that) to the end theme from Scarface, of all movies.
    • It's always hot when he's onscreen
    • True. So it must be the heat.   LOL. Oh, you.
    • That's a lousy ad. They didn't even choose good headshots. That's the least attractive I've seen Gregory Harrison look in his entire career. He looked hotter on GH last year! And CBS would keep bringing over ABC or NBC actors (more often ABC) for their soaps, further gutting their identities. Sad all around. Of course, they are the only network to have more than one soap on the air, so who am I to judge?
    • He always looks a snack to me lol!  Yes Blue is his color for sure! Those arms of his are huge *must not think dirty thoughts*
    • Maybe trying to ramp up the nostalgia factor? The only original characters left on the show were Angela, Lance, and Chao-Li. But FC hadn’t been watched by too many since 1987 and the finale didn’t bring back any old living characters like Emma, Cole, Peter Stravos etc.
