skillfully done - if these are rewrites, using the PAST to legitimize a present turn of events is exactly how you do it. The revelation that Will has been working for Stefano is brilliant, in that it reiterates how Stefano has a hand in pretty much everything that goes on even if it doesn't appear so, yet it also makes sense and doesn't feel tacked on. I approve. Keep it up.

By time they put Will and Sonny together the show will be canceled. They might as well do it as soon as possible...ratings suck anyways....not that them being a couple would do anything for the ratings..but at least Id be entertained and not bored by the show.

I'm going to assume from this that Sonny will be the person bailing Will out of jail.

ETA: OK, based on the daily spoilers for that week, Sonny advises Will before he's arrested. So, I'm guessing their convo is merely to foreshadow Will's arrest. The spoiler states Will is surprised by who bails him out, so I'm guessing it's either Lexi, Ian, or EJ.

Jesse Kristofferson, the real-life son of singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson, returns as Neil, the guy Will shared a passionate kiss with, on June 19 and 20. "He's a good guy and a good friend of mine," reports Chandler Massey (Will), who was glad to work with Kristofferson, again. So does Will explain his abrupt reaction to their kiss to Neil, this time around? "I guess that's up to interpretation. Personally, I don't think so," says Massey.

Good news for Justin and Adrienne fans. Inside sources reveal that Wally Kurth and Judi Evans will be getting more screen time. The pair will be involved in a meaty storyline with their TV son, Freddie Smith (Sonny), in the upcoming months. In the interim, Kurth returns in June to offer legal aid to a character in need.

Few observations; Justin is gonna be Will's lawyer & I wonder if it goes to Trial.

I know some thought the Brian character Brant Daugherty plays is date to Sonny but was a former lover who is now HIV+ and Sonny wonders if he is infected too.

Or if he's the ex maybe he is dying & wants to make ammends with Sonny before dying.

The article calls the story meaty and I just dont see Sonny dating Brian as meaty and plus why would Justin & Adrienne be involved in a Who Sonny is dating story?

The Brian role is short term. I think Brian is either a basher who pretends to date Sonny or is someone Sonny slept with & is now positive Sonny has to worry he may have HIV and then isnt sure why Will would want to date him.Its said to be a meaty story and Sonny just dating is not that

But seriously, unless Brian were to sleep with Adrienne or even Justin while dating Sonny simultaneously (which, yes, would mean he wasn't a short-term character), I don't see how this story could be "meaty" for the Kiriakises either.

    • I guess I should appreciate Clifton's devotion to his craft, but this comes off as so pretentious. Nothing about Liam's story (or B&B, for that matter) is high art.
    • To me the product placement normalizes these folks. Your bound to see household products around no matter how immaculate someone's house may be.  I was just thinking about her as Yvonne on AMC. Yeah, would love to see her.
    • There's also the soap opera conundrum: once characters get everything they want, they tend to stagnate. Nola got everything she wanted. One of the things that was really interesting about her was that tremendous need for things out of her grasp. Once that was resolved, there wasn't much left for her to play. Maybe Long could have found something to replace that, but since she wasn't created by Long, she probably preferred to focus on the needy character she created: Reva. They were still significant stockholders. They could have punched back. Vanessa forced to team with the brother she resents. I can see it working.
    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.
