Y&R: Discussion for the Month of February

They could always put her in "Myrna's" veil.

I'm not sure what purpose Isabella would even serve, as Ricky is just a lost cause as a character, IMO.

Honestly? I think MAB is dumb enough to cast Jessica Leccia as nu-Isabella. No joke.

That might work, in terms of age (Jessica looks a bit old in the face), but Isabella would just simper all the time.

I never had any interest in the character and I doubt I ever will.

You and me both. Love Longoria on Desperate Housewives, though. She found "her" role with that one.

I wasn't sure what bringing Daisy Duke on the show would entail -- but so far I'm prepared to eat my words. Not saying I want Catherine Bach on a long-term contract or anything -- when her story is done, she should leave and that is that -- but she is playing this very well indeed. She is a lot of fun to watch, not overly campy but with a lot of naturalness and mischeviousness in her eyes. And Melissa Clare Egan looks eerily like her. There is even something similar in their voice inflections. Good call from the casting director. And, let's face it, Bach, MCE and Jess Walton were BY FAR the most compelling actors in that scene. Billy Miller looked like he was counting the seconds before hitting the blackjack table in Vegas while Amelia Heinle remains a complete washout. Has there ever been anybody with any LESS presence on Y&R?

Great scenes between Ronan and Nina yesterday. And actually quite moving. Today was the first day I actually enjoyed the dude playing Ricky. See, even HE has more presence that SnoreToria. Also: I think I am developing a little crush on Doug Davidson. He is so extremely personable on screen.

I know, they do look INCREDIBLY alike. It is stunning. I'm curious now how's going to play Phyllis and Avery's mother. I would love if they brought Abby Dalton back to play her.

They didn't ever care about the relationship. Before Phyllis, he was using Chloe as a booty call and taking off his shirt to make snow angels with Heather. Nina's only role is to pop up a few times a year as his obsessive mother.

Did you have to bring up the horrid snow angels scene? LOL, you're right though. They never cared about Ronan and Nina, no matter which woman he was laying with. Chloe and Heather just badgered him more about Nina that's all.

Ricky being mad and resentful towards Paul is understandable and I like that Ricky got it off his chest. The problem is they've done these resentful, abandoned child stories so much that its tiresome. Kay/Tucker is the worst in resent years with all the rewriting just to make it work. It still doesn't imo.

GC vs Genevieve is lame. Ol bunch of meanies. I still don't feel like rooting for Genevieve though. Over the top 'root for her/him' writing is annoying.

Why can't this show seem to dress Genie in anything that is her size or flattering? She is beginning to get Denise Alexander's late-90's GH wardrobe of loose, over sized men's shirts and pants.

I thought they were trying to hide her excess weight.

Jessica Leccia is cast as nu-Isabella. It's revealed the reason Isabella went crazy was because she couldn't cope with the fact that she's a lesbian. Crystal Chappell and Orlagh Cassidy subsequently added to the cast.

No way would Longoria come back to Y&R under any circumstances. She talks nicely about Y&R because it's a classy thing to do and she probably does have good memories.

But she has moved way beyond daytime soaps. With DH dying she really has to make some smart career moves to ensure some career longevity and going back to a show that she had little impact on at the time and is a part of a dying genre is hardly going to keep her on the A list.Plus, the salary would probably only cover her drycleaning for the month.

If they are they should stop because she's not that big. Baggy close don't hide anything.

What the HELL is going on? Who is this annoying girl wit the Adelaide from Guys and Dolls voice, and how did they get shipwrecked off of Long Island sound of all places? Jeff is responsible?

I felt embarrassed when Katherine walked in on Devon and that awful music. "Sounds good." Uh, no.

Diana DeGarmo, a runner-up on the third season of American Idol, now playing the role of a stereotypical mob boss' daughter Angelina (to Mike Starr's Angelo) in a lazy attempt to give Kevin a story.

Angelo (obviously) removed Jeff from Gloria to get with her, but Jeff escaped and now has amnesia.

Just writing this... ugh.

Wow, thanks. Okay, now I recognize her, she used to be blonde... she lost to Fantasia, right?

Yeah. She has mostly done Broadway since then.

This is all apparently some clever homage to Jersey Shore.

Daniel is a good looking guy, what possessed him to grow that dirty hippie ponytail?

One episode and I can hardly stand her.

He's had the long, dirty hair for years, unfortunately.

If there's anything MAB is worse at than drama it's attempts at homages. Keep in mind that Kevin and Chloe are supposed to be Pretty in Pink.
