January 22, 201214 yr Member GL underwent huge cuts. Not to mention that The Talk probably costs a lot more than the average talk show, with the amount of firing and hiring they had to do for its first year. Doubtful. They let people go at the end of their contract, and brought on new people in a recurring role, essentially.
January 22, 201214 yr Member Oh please AMC was nowwhere near the level that GL was. GL was dead before cancellation even came with no hope of recovering. AMC still had alot of potential and went out strong AMC in the last few years was headed into GL territory, and alot of potential, possibly, but it's hard to tell with all the bad writing
January 22, 201214 yr Member +1 Soaps couldn't even get those numbers in 1992. It's one thing to post on here and act like you are offering a dose of reality--quite another to make ridiculous claims that actually make someone seem more delusional than even the most naive OLTL fan. At this point EastMA sounds merely like a troll. Or someone who can back up statements with facts.

Didn't they also have to dump a bunch of people behind the scenes? They seem to treat the show as some non-entity, when, considering Julie Chen's prominent role at CBS, I assume it was supposed to be much more.

The show would have (and did) get cancelled long before it looked like it was being produced by a high school film club Edited January 23, 201214 yr by Cheap21
