Oh wow! This Ex-Wives Club episode is flawless. SUch a good period for the show it seems and great cast!! I actually enjoyed Harley and the actress playing Lizzie was very good. I wish the show had done whatever it took to make Joan Collins stick around. IF she needed time off, give it to her! Marj Dusay was always such a miscast as Alex and I feel the role was limited with her in it. Especially when she returned after Collins left.

Totally agree, Joan Collins RULES as Alex! She is quite Bev in the role, the coolness, the sophistication, one part warmth, another part venom! Marj could never quite get that right, while Bev and Joan were smooth as silk she would bulldoze her way through a scene.

If they had to let Joan go I wish they would have recast with someone other then Marj (and I love Marj...just not as Alex.)

With Joan in the role it would've been more prominent and she was so much better than Ron Raines at leading that family. It could've been a great success long term. Also watching that episode I wish they had brought Mindy back full time. She has a great comedic flair and was more interesting than Blake (I never enjoyed Liz Keifer).

Fall 2002 and into early 2003 was for me, the last time GL really ROCKED. I mean, they really had something good going on at the time. And then in comes Weston/Conboy, and we have Alex as Reva's stalker (what?) and Reva turning psychic, and everything else falling apart.

I wonder what the original plan was for Joan Collins' Alex. She was supposed to be around for a total of 6 months, meaning Alex would've left by the end of March 2003. Oh, what could've been.

And I loved Alison Herschlag's version of Lizzie. She definitely looked like a teen version of Hayden Panetierre's Lizzie. And a good actress too.

Watching the 1983 episode when Phillip's paternity came out, I couldn't get over how much young Mindy reminded me so much of Lizzie (as played by Marcy Rylan). If I didnt know the history of the show, I would have assumed that Lizzie was Mindy's daughter and not Beth's daughter. What I even found laughable was when Beth would remark how much Lizzie reminded her of herself at that age... but these early episodes from 1983 show that the writers didnt do their homework (what else is new LOL).

I recieved my Reva DVD days ago, but I haven't touched it yet. RIght now I just finished the episode where Nola's secrets are revealed and she's just one of my favorite soap characters ever. I just knew I'd love her and in just one or two episodes she's just blown me away. GL is foolish for letting her get away and for not utilizing her better when she returned. SO much better than Reva.

I am so confused by the family though. I see there is a son named Sean who wasn't seen until 1995? What is the point of that since the family was basically done by then? And why give her so many kids but not feature them? I also see that Kassie DePaiva played a Reardon child. What was she like? And also, I had no idea that her character returned in 1993. Was that just guest spots or did it seem like they were toying with a return? My last annoying question, when Maureen died I know they said everyone was in the other room, but did they actually bring ANYBODY back for her funeral?

No one was brought back for Maureen's funeral. Nola came back in 1995, not 1993 and Chelsea wasn't on canvas then either. Chelsea was a singer and also a journalist who worked at The Springfield Journal. Sean was Matt and Bridget's father. He was only seen within that short time frame due to them.
