I'm still looking forward to this. The last time GH had a female headwriter was the best the shows ever been.

Higley, McTavish and Passante have left bad tastes in my mouths when they were either HW or co-HW, hopefully Altman is good

Megan McTavish?

It's always good to know there are more McTavish sort of fans...

I think some reminded me McTavish was not all bad. She just left a terrible taste with me over the unabortion and banana pancakes and her time on GH was dreadful.

But Broderick, Agnes Nixon, Kay Alden, Claire Labine some of the best writers out there. I doubt Altman is at their level but GH 's pacing is just

terrible. They definitely need some help.

The main things GH needs are heart, and less ugly amorality. It's not clever or cute or fun or daring to have a cast full of loathsome people.

With JFP in charge none of that is coming back. They actually need a HW and EP that both embody that.

IA. I think they need a new EP more than they need a new HW.

There is always such reverse sexism on soap boards with this bizarre assumption that women make better writers than men and that they being women is all the evidence one needs. Well, Douglas Marland wasn't a woman, and Henry Slesar wasn't a woman, and Bill Bell wasn't a woman either.

I LOVED AW during that time...I believe that was the era of Lorna Devon and Cindy Harrison,I believe. Two of my favorite characters.

If she wrote that then yes she's good. I really enjoyed AW during those years. These soaps aren't playing any games. I put money that Y&R is making a big move soon too. From new EP's to HW's and thats why we haven't seen changes. They are going to do it in one swoop. With GH and Days making massive changes and in this soap climate, Y&R can't afford to keep hitting all time lows across the board with out making a change at the top.

Well Kim Rhodes (Cindy) was on Another World from 1996-1999, so that would have been under her tenure. Also Robin Christopher (Lorna) was on from 1994-1997, so there would have been an overlap there too. And I loved both Lorna and Cindy!

On the one hand this just sounds like JFP giving her friend a promotion.

On the other hand ABC must be at least somewhat interested in saving GH since this will be more expensive than Wolf doing the job solo.

I don't think Frons cares anymore to be honest other than to keep his stupor couples together. If they promoted this women from breakdown to Co-HW how much of an increase in pay does she get and will they promote/hire another writer? THey have lost/fired a few since GW took over.

This reinforces what I thought which was that RC was going to come to GH to be a co-HW with Wolfe. She came from OLTL and worked under Carvalati. Maybe they feel she has some of his better attributes.
