Members dragonflies
Why do they even need to promise them roles on other shows? They shouldn't have to remotely do that. I don't see that as an incentive, cause they can't guarantee those shows will keep them for one episode or twenty.
Members R Sinclair
It's clear you don't know what you're talking about. It's called negotiations."We want your services for this, and in turn, here's what we're willing to do for you..." It happens every single day in show business. It might not happen in the uber successful motion picture production company you run... but it's pretty usual elsewhere. "You work for our company, here's what our company is willing to give you!" It's why actors don't renew their contracts with certain soaps. The company wants the actor to work X amount of days, but the actor wants either X amount of money for working those days or more time off. Or the company wants the actor for X amount of years, but the actor wants outs to do other projects such as theater, film or other television shows. It's up to the company to come to the table with something to get them to sign or renew.
Members Eric83
I hope something is announced tomorrow like SID hinted. The constant speculating is getting tiring.

Members marceline
But that's the reality of acting. There are no guarantees. It's all about opportunities. A guest shot here, a pilot there, you work with a director and hope they remember you...that's how it works. I don't get the impression they were promising anybody anything. That article reeks of typical Jamey overstatement.
Members JaneAusten
I doubt anyone is promising anyone anything. As RSinclair said its negotiating and I doubt anyone is going to be guaranteed some major role in a production but they might be committing to these people first chance to audition for roles in their productions it could be that simple. And I doubt we are going to hear anything in terms of what they are offering people in SID. You might hear as much as you hear today about anyone's contract with a production, which is not much. And its really not our business what and how PP does in terms of negotiating with talent. Why do people care so JAcob Young can be chastized for taking a role and not waiting and lashed out at being hasty which is what I read on another site? As we saw from that announcement yesterday, PP is still getting their own leadership team in place. I find it hard to imagine they'd commit to a date with no technology leadership in place, they just announced that, but in todays technology landscape anything can happen. Members Eric83
I meant that SID said more details about the Prospect Park deal could be annnounced as soon as today.
Members marceline
That's how I see it. It's funny how PP saying they have other projects is considered desperation. You know that if Oprah had saved these shows most of these actors would be rehearsing their "I loves Harpo..." monologue just waiting for the chance to audition for The Color Purple, Part 2. Members dragonflies
http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/jacob-young-his-return-bb Digest: The bummer aspect of this for AMC fans, of course, is that this means you won't be part of AMC's move to the Internet. Young: The uncertainty [about that transition] is the hard thing. All I hear is, "Well, when it," or, "If it." That doesn't add much security, personally and professionally. And even then, are they going to be able to meet all the needs [of the cast] financially? Those are questions we all have to ask ourselves. Members Marley
People are so dumb and comments like that are unfortunately to be expected from certain sites and boards. I bet these are the same people that still hate on Oprah for not saving their soaps or expect the actors to use all their million of dollars to start their own network so that we can still watch our stories. Some soap fans really need to get a grip on reality.
Members marceline
Preach. And it's only going to get worse. I'm sure most of the people who aren't interested made that decision quite some time ago but can't/won't say so because they don't want the drama. I like how JY is really honest about the money aspect. Yes, actors love acting but I have it on good authority they also enjoy eating, paying their rent and clothing their children. Members JaneAusten
LMAO. You can already see it from comments. Well they can all do PP because they have nothing else or do it until something better comes along. Many actors do web soaps and do other things. I have already seen all of these comments. Like anyone knows the terms of the deals or what any actors personal goals and ambitions may be.I saw Walt Willey on a local talk show yesterday and he talked a little about it and sounded optimisitic yet cautious. Anyone who wants to move on with them and welcomes the opportunity good for them and I'll be happy for them but don't chastize people for not doing it. Also this idea that if these actors don't move the shows will fail, well now I love Jacob Young but do people really think if JR doesn't move to PP AMC AMC will fail? It might fail but not because JY or any of the rest didnt move there.

Walt said they recieved it Two days ago and that PP wants the actors to read it over and give their feedback.
