No one could fault either of them for not wanting a contract at this point - though I would be surprised if both did not at least appear on a recurring basis. I always think Erika Slezak is ready to retire, but then she surprised me when she said she had been prepared to move to LA for the show.

Right now my going impression is that the shows will only vaguely resemble the existing ones, at best. I also don't believe they'll have the same EPs/HWs - ABCD has already begun re-assigning FV and RC. And, okay. At this point, with this kind of massive shift, why not. It's not like they're putting on a spectacular show at the moment. Give new people a shot.

I was just at a fundraiser with my friend who watches soaps. He says to me, "What is this I hear that I might not have to give up my shows after all?"

"Yep that's true," I say. "Another production company bought the rights."

"Where are they moving?" he asks.

"They're going online," I say.

His reaction: "I'm not going to watch that [!@#$%^&*] on my computer!"

PP has their work cut out for them.

They arent really saved. Yes, they will continue but not on TV, another network. The shows will be completely different. The audience will be even less. Marceline friends comment...red flag....

If its free...Ill watch OLTL to see what it looks like. If I like it ...I might watch more than a few times. If its a whole bunch of newbies with awful looking model...set up... I wont watch Internet OLTL.

I think if the AMC and OLTL had just two or three more years on network TV this transition would not be so rough. By then most people will be used to TV/computer being one in the same, I think. Even if that means having internet content streamed to their TV. I'm not an "early adopter" of tech and I haven't yet transitioned to TV/internet being synonomous yet. Still, I can feel it coming.

That said, all we can do is hope for the best.

Depending on what we find out about cast and quality...I'm hoping there's an international license or some way I can watch in merry old England. Cause yeah, it's miserable enough over there when it's raining everyday, but to not be able to watch AMC? Ugh.

That said, if the cast and quality are total [!@#$%^&*], I don't care if they show it in all fifty states.
