I think what is sexy differs from person to person, and I do wonder though with the "hunks" of today is will they be able to adjust as they get older. Someone like John Wesley Shipp would be a good example of a guy who was hired based on hot when he was young, but had acting ability as seen from roles later in his career (whether one liked him on OLTL as Eddie.) Charisma is more than just having an open shirt. Sometime in the 1970s or so, or maybe in the 1980s for some shows, it started to get worse when it came to casting people on looks. (I say 70s for Y&R, but other shows this became more of an issue later.) Then again it could just be how popular looks changed from years ago to now.

I hope the online version doesn't get a lot worse. If they want to shop the shows to cable, they can't make the language too coarse. That said, Awkward on MTV is bleeped, so perhaps they would go that route. I don't really want to see OLTL sauna on a weekly basis. If I wanted to stare at some guy, there are places to go to do that, I don't need to watch a soap opera.

PS to Khan they say hey and miss you too. :)

I enjoy Trueblood's racy sex scenes. They don't pretend to be anything lofty, but a fun hour of serial storytelling. I look forward to PP being freed from the daytime prudity that descended several years ago.

Soaps used to be far racier in the afternoon but now the love scenes are so tamed and so darn vanilla.

You should see the Gabrielle/Max scenes I put in the OLTL thread.

But I'm not sure if PP will be a lot different than today's soaps. The problem is that soaps have become so dehumanized and cynical. Generally that's how TV in general has become. It wasn't fun watching the primetime Emmys and seeing reels of so many shows that are about abject misery and death.

The language rules for basic cable seem to be all over the place. Shows that normally have network TV style rules can all of a sudden bust out the occasional s--- or a-----e. The Daily Show bleeps things completely haphazardly yet gave a full shot of Jason Jones scrotum when he got his vasectomy. And do we even have to discuss South Park? I have NO idea what the rules for language are on TV anymore.

Because it can't be said too much...y'all are going to hell.

Isn't there a quota on a TV show on network television or a gage that shows have to follow as to how much sex, violence, foul language is allowed. I vaguely remember reading that somewhere and that the reason you possibly see less sex on soaps and even broadcast network television is because of the the fact the shows choose to air more violence. For example a show has a limit of being able to show 3 either violent, sex or scenes with foul language within the hour and they choose to show 3 acts of violence over lets say 1 act of violence, 1 love scene, 1 use of foul language. I can believe the tameness in the love scenes today might tie into that considering none of these shows have problems showing abuse, explosions, murders or other acts of violence. Look how dark and dismal nightime television has become also. Not that daytime is near that but perhaps the daytime stds are a bit heavier.

LOL! Sorry. I misunderstood. I took that as a reference to... "If I wanted to stare at some guy, there are places to go to do that, I don't need to watch a soap opera. PS to Khan they say hey and miss you too. smile.png" as in whatever place you go to stare at guys misses you.

Ah the communication potholes one hits on the internet.
