Members Chris B
I'm sure they'll try to get a nice group of major players and they can always retool the cast depending on the writers needs and those who won't want to continue. OLTL will also have a new HW so who knows that vision that person will have or what PP is looking for. In general, if they can't get enough major AMC players to continue, I don't see the harm in just launching OLTL which is looking easier to transition of the two. Maybe they could revisit their plans to do a new soap and see what various soap scribes have in mind. I'd do a remake of Knots Landing or Peyton Place. Recognized brands, but still could be new soaps. Then just reuse the AMC sets and studios. Honestly, AMC might not have Susan Lucci and we know Ricky Paull Golden, Chrishell, Jacob Young, Debbi Morgan, Rebecca Budig and who knows how many others won't make it. I wouldn't mind a radically retooled show, but I know fans will complain if that happens. It's a tough situation for everybody.
Members Juliajms
I agree, it's a tough situation. We have no idea what will happen, but I sure hope PP markets aggressivly for new viewers. Then it won't matter quite so much that a radical retooling seems inevitable. Members EricMontreal22
Right, in fact it might be easier for new viewers. I hope they can find a compromise, but I have to say I do find the idea of them trying to reinvent the show *to some extent* of more interest. Members Khan
Well, if push comes to shove, they could "reset the clock," so to speak, dust off the old scripts, and then the first scene of the new AMC would be of Amy and Phoebe arguing over the Vietnam War War in Iraq. Members jams1234
Don't know if this was mentioned here yet & take it for what it's worth.... but Catherine Hickland posted this on her FB page....... "I don't believe this Susan Lucci story for a minute. Sounds to me like there's a squirrel in the cage. She will undoubtedly speak when the time is right. Until then, believe NOTHING you read until the people written about speak for themselves."

Members SFK
I mean, just imagine... I see this fragile woman sitting by the fire in an overstuffed chair with an afghan over her legs picking up a phone receiver twice the size of her head playing go-between. GMAFB. I feel like my fuckin eyes are gonna cross, all this "news". I wish no developments were leaked and we learned about everything in one succinct press release once all decisions were finalized. I don't think one announcement has been made that folks have been enthusiastic about, which comes as no surprise seeing as how people were curiously shitting upon PP picking up these shows from press leak one. I don't really get it. Not that we don't have reason to be cautiously optimistic, but the premature hate is just so passionate.
Members EricMontreal22
And some of the hate seems even gleeful, like some people are excited to announce that these are doomed to failure, etc. (Of course that's nothing new for soap fans as of late--ie The Jamey's endless tweets about how AMC would go and OLTL wouldn't last Spring, etc)
Members Shawn
According to E! Online, La Lucci has officially turned down PP's offer. No more Erica Kane.
Members DavidsMuse
Since E! only refers to the Deadline report, without further corroboration by SL or PP, it's still a rumor for me!
Members marceline
LOL! You and I have a completely different view of Agnes! I pictured her sitting at her writing desk in her stylishly appointed study. She gets a phone call where we only hear a frantic voice. She says simply, "I'll take care of it" and disconnects the call. Agnes rises from her desk, goes to the liquor cart and pours herself a double - whiskey I think - and takes a long, slow drink. Then with a heavy sigh, she starts dialing away on her Blackberry, muttering, "I'm getting to old for this [!@#$%^&*]." Me too but that makes us bad soap fans. Members reallyhateskateonlost
Well of course Michael Easton signs with OLTL, next Cameron Mathison is happy to sign with AMC! Sad to see Ted King has resigned with OLTL, Lorenzo won't be coming back to Port Chuckles.
Members Juliajms
I don't know about that. I'm an atheist and I still said "praise the Lord" when I hear that ES and KDP sign up with OLTL. I've seen other people happy about that too. I've even seen some people happy about ME and TK staying on. Hell, even though I'm not an ME fan, he does have plenty and I think it's not a bad sign that he's staying on. A lot that is wrong with that character is the way the women around him are written. With any luck that will change with PP.
Members JaneAusten
Same here which is why I admit to overreacting to the same guard mentality at OLTL but then who knows. I honestly am not as pissed at lucci possibly not joining AMC as I am that PP doesn't appear to be interested in the show beyond her. Yes I don't know what they are thinking or planning for so I could be totally off base. i would take a reinvented AMC. At least you have some capable people steering the ship so to speak now.
