Congrats Agnes! This is pretty cool news. I wonder how it's going to work though.

Your last post in the cancellation made me smile so much. I can't believe the shows were saved.

I hope this multi-year is clad iron contract, gives these shows at least 2 or 3 years. I can't take another Passions situation.

I think a lot of actors were positioning themselves for the next step the way any of us would if we knew our jobs were being phased out and I have no doubt that there's an actor or two who is not happy at this news for a myriad of reasons. Even the ones who are happy are probably sick of being slapped around by this mess.

Yeah, and for the youngins, it's kind of like being all set to get your own apartment when your parents tell you that you can have the full finished basement to yourself for only $100/month.

In the press release they said to keep the same production levels.

I hope JHC is OUT at AMC and LB stays as HW.

I know that's what they claimed, but these webisodes will be produced by an independent production company (via licensing from ABC/Disney), right? I know they don't have Disney money...

Priority #1

You have to sign Lucci and Slezak

Priority #2

Keep Lorraine and Valentini

Priority #3

Salvage as much of the young leads and supporting cast as you can & advertising.

They definitively don't but the one thing I liked was that both of the people who bought it worked for ABC at one point. So they do know how to run the shows. Hopefully the cutbacks won't show up on screen.

I hope whoever is put in charge of the shows really chooses who to sign very carefully. This is the perfect opportunity to really cut back the dead weight and restructure the shows.

I hope OLTL cuts all of their teens except for Matthew, Dani, and Destiny. Gets rid of the Fords and Jessica.

I saw people questioning how the union rules and pay scales will work on twitter. There are a lot of questions, but since AMC and OLTL just came back from the dead, I almost feel like there is nothing to lose. Even if it's a once a week show, that's something.

Yeah, the only way I could take an entirely teen-focused OLTL is if Matthew and Destiny were the leads. I wouldn't min occasionaly appearances by Starr or Dani, but they all really need to be cut in this move.

Don't blow up their website or anything, but I think some concise, well-thought letters to Prospect expressing what you felt worked and didn't work for prior experiments of soaps on diminished budgets may be constructive. And of course show your delight and gratitude.

From Richard at SID:

A setsider tells us ALL of the #AMC actors are free of their contracts as of Sept. Meaning Prospect Park would have to start from scratch

That is good for Prospect because now they can negotiate with the actors. Don't need to pay the actors more.

The whole fallout from this is going to be the best daytime drama yet!

In a good way. I can't wait to hear from the cast. :D
