What happened with the character of Ashley? I can't believe how I just totally lost interest in this show about 3-4 episodes into the second season....

This was must see television just a year ago and now it's just boring. I have no idea what's going on with Jack or Daniel or Ashley....hell even Victoria confuses me

The Masquerade episode was phenomenal. What a great example of stylized soap opera at its best. From the truly touching and emotional like Nolan's reaction to the news of Padma's death, to the opera in soap opera like Victoria thinking she saw her son, that music, her fainting and grabbing the red tablecloth... What a fantastic scene that was. Truly a classic.

Great season 2 finale. The season left me with a far better opinion than I would have ever expected. First third was horridly boring and then it became hit and miss until the lovely episode were Amanda died... after which it built steadily and returned to its old self more or less. Hoping for a much better Season 3, though.

Nolan is back to being gay! :D I love that he called his relationship with Padma, PTSD.

I am loving this harder edge Charlotte has. Her acting has also improved.

Laughed at Victoria and Conrad arguing about what to sell to make it through the month. I wish I was poor in the way they are. lol

Margaux is a Ho! It even rhymes.

After that dinner with the family, I felt really bad for Patrick. They all freaking hate his guts. I loved him giving it back to Daniel. But then he turned around and was such a bitch to Emily.

And how lovely that Emily was confronted by both Jack and Nolan about the innocent her revenge is affecting. So sad when she realized her mistake about the priest. It was a nice twist that she could possibly use him to get Conrad to confess.

What I love most is that the show finally has a sense of direction. The biggest problem with Season 2, apart of its boringness, was that it felt aimless, like it was just trying to drag things out. Now it feels like we could be drawing to a close by season's end, which is exciting.

    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
