I'm very sorry...

Now I'm worried. Concerning Jimmy Fallon GIF by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

P.S. I found it interesting how they introduced him. In his first episode he was sort of like an extra. I think he had like half a line or something and was just doing things in the background. His only line was about Marty. I had to do a double check with the older version I'd seen in pictures and even asked my husband: "Is this the same person?"... with him absolutely confirming it is. Compared to how Blair or Luna were thrown into the show... Pretty much giving them center stage moments... It was really... different. Do you know if he was intended to be as big of a character as he later became? At this point I don't even get the impression he will be anything important. (Even though I know he will... I've seen him mentioned by soap fans for years.) It's a very interesting choice to just slither him in so slowly and quietly.

I think he was meant to be important, but not as important as he'd become.

Thank you. When Rachel and Kevin sat at their table at the roadhouse... I instantly started worrying if something is not going to happen to Rachel. But then I saw that Todd and the other hooligans had their attention set at Marty. She is the easiest prey - drunk and using drugs, with no support system... They've been giving her even more negative and toxic moments... Now we saw her stealing stuff and being a kleptomaniac. I still think she is undescribable trash, played by a one of a kind actress and I won't ever forget the pain and hysteria she caused with accusing Andrew of pedophilia. That's why I found it absolutely shocking when Cassie and Andrew had her in their Christmas list. It was a bit too much even for a man of God. Even though I get it's part of their condescending friendliness with people they pity... similar to how Viki operates with enemies.

Todd was never meant to be a long-term character initially, including during the major story he will kick off in spring-summer. It was only during the course of those events that they saw Roger Howarth's talent and decided to build him out.

Question: would it have been better for Megan and Max to reconnect as fond friends versus pairing her with Andrew in these weeks? I do enjoy her scenes with Andrew but I really enjoyed Max and Megan in the 80s episodes.

I love the Andrew and Megan relationship, so I would never give it up. I do think looking at it recently today they may or may not have pivoted very quickly from testing her with Heinrich/Cain when they knew they couldn't keep Jessica permanently (and knew John Loprieno was quitting, leaving KW's Tina adrift) to doing something with a more closed loop, i.e. an unattainable romance with Andrew, a devoted man of God. OTOH Andrew was Malone's self-admitted personal avatar/self-insert onscreen (per his old website Q&As) in some ways, and Andrew's passion for Megan never really goes away as long as Malone is at the show. (And Andrew continues to have complicated ties to unattainable women - first Marty, then married Téa Delgado). I think if JT had agreed to stay they might have gone ahead with her torn between Andrew and Cain, or even pitted her against Tina again like the '80s for a quad.

I love the Max/Megan relationship both from what I've seen in the '80s and here in the '90s, and they do have some lovely scenes when he returns and again on her deathbed. But I think their relationship is where it's supposed to be. If Tuck had signed another contract and Max had gotten sick of Blair and Luna, who knows?

JdP and Jessica always worked well together but I don't think she would have had any interest in him again after he broke her heart for Gabrielle. He was also a better fit for Megan when she had the tough surface he had to crack. She was much more vulnerable by the end, even before she was near-death. Andrew was the perfect partner for her by that point, platonic but deeply emotional (and that's why the story is so beautiful - it's like something from old letters).

I could see Megan being very involved in Max's life though and fighting tooth and nail against Blair - if Megan had stayed she and Blair likely would have become frenemies in the Kassie years, probably never more than that. Abby/Laura-esque.

"The Re-Invention of Blair Cramer."

🔷

Here we go... I'm 4 episodes in 1993 and I must say - I am really enjoying the enhanced quality of the source. It's 200 percent better, and the audio quality is what makes the biggest difference. Even my husband joined me and had no trouble watching (he couldn't tolerate the pixelated 1992 episodes, even though I remind him that we should be thankful all of this is available on YouTube).

🔷

Just when we thought Blair was cornered and about to lose her company, an idea came to her. She plans to accuse Asa of raping her. Yes, you heard correctly. There was the sort of perverted almost escort-ish thing going on, but she intends to escalate the situation and produce a false witness who can back up her claims of getting raped in Asa's house. Specifically, someone Asa fired - a person who could be bought and holds a grudge against him. It's getting really crazy. Mia Korf is going to be leaving this show very soon... and I can't see how, since Blair is center stage in every single moment. I wonder how they did the change.

🔷

Blair's path of destruction isn't restricted to one person or location. She is set on making everyone else suffer with her. Her next target was Max. She wants him to lie at her divorce hearing and claim he never slept with her after the marriage, never even met her privately at the spa. Luna found out about this and confronted Blair. That unexpected moment when she grabbed Blair at the end was very soapy.

🔷

The character assassination of Clint (to make Viki more likely to cheat with Sloan) has started up again. They are repeating the same type of thing they did months ago. But this time... creating an issue for Viki and Clint to fight... out of thin air. The new problem is about Kevin dating Rachel. They took it further by having Kevin accuse Clint of being a racist. I don't understand what this actor did to cause the producers/writers to first portray his character as a homophobe and now suggest he might be a racist, forcing him to DENY it... but YIKES, YIKES, YIKES. I'm a bit upset because I want Clint to be with Viki. But here they go again, making him unlikable and having Viki argue with him about it. AGAIN. Oh... and before I forget - Viki saw Dorian leaving Sloan's bedroom after "putting her clothes on" and misunderstood the situation. Her usual QUEEN MASK fell apart, revealing a very disturbed, jealous woman, almost crying in front of the house. L-O-V-E-D this. Oh, Viki... do it already.

🔷

The other person accused of being a racist, Hank... is facing an ultimatum from his daughter - either accept my relationship with Kevin or LOSE ME! He refuses to back down, even going so far as to confront Kevin and threaten him to STAY AWAY from Rachel. I wonder if the producer/writers are not writing themselves in a corner by making so many characters unlikable. This contributes to the overall DARK and TWISTED atmosphere of the show, which I usually enjoy (as a huge fan of Dostoevsky, I thrive on misery). The positive - I really appreciated Rachel standing her ground. She's my favorite character at the moment. And seeing her torn between her parents is fascinating.

🔷

I brought this up in a previous post and talked about it with you all. Todd Manning is here now, but he is not that active at the moment. The actor has presence... I give him that. I haven't heard more than a few lines from him yet, but his face is memorable even at such a young age.

Overall -  7.5/10

Luna vs Blair!

Thanks @Maxim .

I had forgotten about Clint objecting to Kevin and Rachel. I will wait and see what happens next in the story before I complain...

I feel like that Luna and Blair scene is missing a beat before Luna resorts to putting hands on her. It does reinforce that deep down Luna knows Max doesn't really love her.
