Members Bright Eyes
I feel like he's using 'T' words on purpose to screw with us. I also have a very sinister thought that I should probably keep to myself. So I will. Edited May 13, 2011 by Amello

Members LeClerc
Thank you so much for posting this! I didn't get to see this scene at the time and have always wanted to.
Members DRW50
It's a good reminder of how good Julia and Roscoe were together. I always felt like it was a huge, and bizarre, mistake to make Jim Thomasen so vile. Some blame McTavish but he was actually really sick even before McTavish showed up. It was a big waste of a good actor and a strong leading man, which AMC could have used at that time.
Members LeClerc
Were Brooke & Jim ever given a serious chance or was he portrayed to the audience as a porno creep we weren't supposed to like right off the bat? I didn't really get to watch AMC much in the fall of '97 and any shows I did catch Brooke and Jim weren't on. When I did start watching again I was really confused about what I was supposed to think about that pairing.
Members DRW50
Jim was a con from the start. At first he was seen as a "hero", as he saved Brooke when the plane crashed. This was his intro; they, Maria, and Edmund, and some extras, were passengers. He and Brooke were close quickly and got together. Soon we learned that he and Laura knew each other, and that's when we started seeing his true nature. He got Laura to take pictures and videos for him when she was underage. He guilted her into staying quiet, for Brooke's sake, and he also made her think that she had killed her mother (her mother had been killed in a fire - he told her it was because of the photos Laura had burned). Then Ricky, the boy who had been in the pictures with Laura, came to Pine Valley. He was a heroin addict. To ensure his silence, Jim gave him a lethal overdose. I thought this was all pretty ugly stuff - 1997 was a very dark year for AMC. I don't know if it was this or the upcoming material under McTavish that made Roscoe quit. When McTavish came, she decided to just make Jim all-encompassing evil, rewriting the story to claim that he had caused the plane crash (Broderick's version was that Adam's airline had put fautly parts in the planes, leading to some rushed stuff I didn't care for where Liza got on one of his planes, had a miscarriage, and he was exposed on The Cutting Edge by Hayley and Mateo), and making it clear that he had murdered Laura's mother.
Members Cheap21
Actually I beleive he was shown as a creep from the very beginning. Here's part of his bio from Soapcentral
Members DRW50
For some reason I think the first time we actually saw Roscoe was when he was on the plane. I thought they sort of painted it as a surprise when Jim and JT were the same man.
