Also can't wait for this.It feels like All My Children is having a mini moment with Susan, SMG, and Michael B. Jordan all in the news and their time on the show coming up.

Tuesday at 04:45 PM2 days Member This is a really random question, but un-SORAS'ed, who is the youngest character from the show? On OLTL it would be Matthew and Destiny's son Drew, who Destiny gave birth to in the ABC finale, so I've been curious how old would the youngest AMC character technically be.

The Mormon-esque gaggle of too many kids near the end of the show has haunted my mind for over a decade. Edited Tuesday at 04:50 PM2 days by Vee

19 hours ago19 hr Member Katharine Kamhi on All My Children, Guiding Light, Oprah cameo & Sleepaway Camp memories! - YouTubeKatherine played Pamela Kingsley. She auditioned to play Cassie on OLTL, and this led her to AMC. She said that she asked a recurring actress at the time on OLTL to help her learn soap acting. She said that Tudi Wiggins and Michael Minor were very kind to her. She praises Susan Lucci highly. She also praises Mark LaMura. She was neighbors with him when they were on AMC. Alan asks if it was uncomfortable to play love scenes with him given the age difference. She says that AMC didn't give her any material along those lines until she had been on the show for a year. She didn't have a problem playing love scenes with Mark because at the time she thought of herself as being older. She auditioned for Sleepaway Camp while still on AMC. She had to ask AMC about doing it. They told her she could, but that they'd be driving her back and forth. She said that when she was playing Pamela, women in the supermarket would try to hit her with their purses and she would have to tell them she was just an actress. She mentioned sharing a scene with Oprah. She said that was when she was about to leave the show - she'd been away to do films and they asked her if she wanted to go, so it was a mutual departure. They asked her if she would film a scene with Oprah because Oprah was getting her own show. Her first reaction was what kind of a name is Oprah. She said Oprah was great. Many years later, she got a call from Oprah's producers as they were doing a show about an actor's first scene and wanted her to be in the audience to surprise Oprah. She went to the taping with her daughter, who was 6 months old at the time. She said Oprah loved her daughter and went around holding her. She still has a photo of Oprah with her daughter. When Alan asked her if she preferred her AMC or GL role she said her AMC role as she got to do a lot more and she was the only teenager opposite all the adults. She said that when she had a brief role on Y&R, she reunited with Peter Bergman and he helped her adjust to how much tougher the pace for soaps was by that point. 3 hours ago3 hr Member The 1980-1982 period of AMC will forever fascinate me especially given the uploaded episodes that sprinkle in from 1980-1982 where you see the OG AMC elements of 70s mixing in the AMC elements of the 80s.I only remember seeing Pamela as played by this actress in the 1982 episode where Erica has her number. I also remember the character coming back at the end of 1987/early 1988 played by a different actress.. and keeping herself hidden from Erica while showing interest in Travis.Whatever plans were being developed seemed to get deep sixed by the 5 month long writers strike.. and when the strike came back.. Erica was dealing with issues with Travis and turning to a man never Steven/Steve (I believe). That same strike also seemed to derail the foundation building being done with the show leaning into a Silver/Jeremy/Jack/Natalie story.. with Palmer being an outside puppet-master. It seemed as though Jack/Natalie were being played as either an end game couple and/or a temp coupling until Natalie/Jeremy reunited.

It seemed as though Jack/Natalie were being played as either an end game couple and/or a temp coupling until Natalie/Jeremy reunited. That era also fascinates me as the show is moving into a very unique area for a soap - so much of the show taking place in New York alongside Pine Valley - and making it work. In both 1982/1983/1984 and then in 1987/early 1988 the show seemed to be finding a difficult balance until the balance was shattered. The show then becomes so streamlined after the 1988 strike and some of the negative response to choices made in late 1988/early 1989. I can understand why, but I think the show loses a richness and identity.I didn't realize how much was dropped due to the strike. I forgot there was a Pamela return. I wonder if Khami was asked to return (she was just recurring on GL around this time). If they weren't interested in Jeremy/Natalie as a serious pairing pre-strike I guess that helps explain why no one at the show seemed to care about keeping them together after their wedding.
