Members alexisfan07
EW is saying her show starts September 2012 so that's clearly when GH will end
Members Soapsuds
So GH will be gone one year from now. The same time AMC ends. Oh well...I wont miss GH. Its been a hot mess for far too long.
Members NYC123
Here in NY GH is the 3pm hour.
Members dragonflies
GH is at 3 pm in most parts of the country I think. It was on at 3 pm when I lived in CA in the late 80's.
Members BingCherry
I call BS on the 'GH is safe' nonsense. The math doesn't add up...come next year the show is
Members dragonflies
soapsindepthabc Soaps In Depth ABC Not really sure how ABC sees Couric as a moneymaker: Her show will cost a fortune. yes, it'll only be 39 weeks of year (as opposed to 52) soapsindepthabc Soaps In Depth ABC But that's still a HUGE money pit. It's re-runability won't be all that high (although they ARE trying to go for a non-newsy approach to... soapsindepthabc Soaps In Depth ABC ... address that factor). But still... between her salary, the execs involved, the cuts everyone gets. WILDLY expensive.
Members marceline
Exactly. I don't know how many times and how many ways people need to hear that ABC wants out of the soap business. GH isn't safe. GH is done.
Members Marco Dane
What the hell are the executives responsible for ABC Daytime Programming thinking? Do they really think they'll get more people to watch this smarmy phony than General Hospital?
Members dragonflies
read that NBC didn't want her cause she wanted the 4 pm timeslot and they balked at giving it to someone unproven CBS wanted nothing to do with her LOL

Members Scotty
Yeah...all three down the drain in a year....sounds like a plausible timeline.... AMC -- September 2011 OLTL -- January 2012 GH -- September 2012 It's like they planned that all along.... I think the Katie Couric news means the end of GH too....
