I don't ever remember AMC taking that much time off, are we sure it's not VI taking 3 weeks off?

I loved everything about the entire six-year run of PORT CHARLES! I know not everyone liked the story arcs, and the introduction

of the vampires. And, I'm not a vampire junkie by a long shot, but this show introduced me to Michael Easton. And, I was so

totally taken with his portrayal of the super-sexy, super-sensual, smooth as butter way he played Caleb. And, then I was totally

taken by the most amazing couple pairing ever, in my opinion of course, Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco. They had oozing

chemistry! The entire run of the show had really good stories. I am one of the show's biggest fans. ABC never did give this

show a proper chance to grow an audience. They were cancelled at numbers like AMC and OLTL have now. See, it's no wonder both

of these shows have been cancelled. They have been in the ratings basement for a long time. No show can survive those numbers

for a long period. I have wondered why they have survived as long as they did.

Me too. Only I hated Caleb and loved Rafe. PC is my favorite soap of all time. It kept my attention, for the most part, throughout it's run.

I've often wondered if it were on the air in the last couple of years whether the whole "Twilight" craziness would have helped the ratings.

I'm pretty sure, he said "we" as in the show having a 3 week break in July. Maybe he just meant him? It seemed like something they normally do. I don't know. Maybe I just understood it wrong.

I've seen that theory tossed around on more than one occasion; however, I really doubt whether the "Twilight" craze would've had much of an impact on PORT CHARLES's ratings. And really, if I had been a PC fan, I don't know whether I would've wanted those fans "invading" my show just b/c of that connection. To me, it's almost like people watching GH just b/c James Franco is a recurring guest star on it.

What made it worse was how marginalized Jamal was in the aftermath & that Hershey/Gaskill had NO chemistry.

Yep. Jamal basically disappeared. It was amazing how much I loved Jamal and Ali. They were such a wonderful couple. Their love for each other was seem genuine compared to other overly dramatic soap couples. I loved their arguments and their loving scenes. I'll never understand how anyone could prefer Ali with milk toast Rafe, but they had tons of fans on the soapcentral and ABC boards.

Yep I disagree completely LOL. Rafe & Ali had mega chemistry, she had it with both Jamal and Rafe and I loved both pairings
