March 24, 201114 yr Member YIKES at DAYS! Its only 1 week guys. Not a bad week for OLTL but not great. Still stuck at a .9 in W18-49.
March 24, 201114 yr Member Not a bad week for OLTL but not great. Still stuck at a .9 in W18-49. At this point gains are gains right especially for a genre which is dying.
March 24, 201114 yr Member Days ouch!! Maybe they should justcancel Days and AMC. [/quo Alarming drop for DAYS indeed, but it doesn't warrant a cancellation. Let's see if this drop off continues. GH is still holding strong
March 24, 201114 yr Member Whoa, B&B number 3 in women 18-49 & 18-34 and number two in women 12-17? When the heck did that happen? B&B used to skew so old. I wouldn't read too much into these numbers for B&B. They cover only three days not an entire week. B&B usually hits its lowest numbers on Thursdays and Fridays. The show has been bleeding viewers in the important demos for weeks now. I don't see that suddenly turning around in one week. We'll see what next week holds when all five days are included.
March 24, 201114 yr Member What's going on with DAYS? Awful writing One-note actors in leading roles One-take shooting of scenes Terrible lighting Cardboard looking sets Bad background music

March 24, 201114 yr Member Haven't posted these in a while but figured good time to compare year over year performance for GH - sorry I don't track AMC: GH monthly Viewership Averages/18-49 demo: 2010: Jan 2010 2,707,250 880,750 ----> #2 Feb 2010 2,864,500 1,000,000 --> #1 Mar 2010 2,575,250 887,250 Apr 2010 2,666,200 878,600 May 2010 2,560,750 854,250 Jun 2010 2,397,750 789,250 ----> #12 Jul 2010 2,538,600 806,400 Aug 2010 2,562,000 829,250 Sep 2010 2,573,400 851,000 Oct 2010 2,439,250 772,000 Nov 2010 2,425,250 776,000 Dec 2010 2,580,800 780,000 ----> #3 2011: Jan 2011 2,739,250 814,750 Feb 2011 2,749,250 802,500 March 2011 2,689,333 766,667
March 24, 201114 yr Member DAYS didn't air in NY until 3AM on Thursday night due to St. Patricks Day parade but the Thursday ratings aren't totally bad. Its Tuesday & Friday that were bad. I havent't watch DAYS in weeks. I just don't have time and OLTL & GH keep me busy.
March 25, 201114 yr Member It really is strange to see the thread title mention new low demos, and NOT seeing AMC. LOL
March 25, 201114 yr Member Why not? LOLS. NBC was going to cancel the soap in 2008. And thats a HUGE decline. Going from 3rd to LAST in the TV and letting AMC tie or even beat it? Good for AMC and ABC. Nice to see that spike in the demos. Any gains is good for AMC but dam a 1.6 that week. Not good. The show made a comeback and made AMC/OLTL eat it's dust, even GH at times What's going on with DAYS? The Rafe 2 storyline, it's offensive on so many levels, not too mention the stuidity that is EJ & Taylor Edited March 25, 201114 yr by dragonflies
March 25, 201114 yr Member They really need to find a way to start adding online viewing into overall ratings. Just saw an article that mentioned Y&R is getting 8 million streams and Days was also in the top ten. I'm guessing Days may be picking up younger viewers this way explaining the low 18-34 numbers. I'm starting the think the genre isn't really dying. The problem is no network has learned how to make money online. OLTL and AMC are so damn close!

I'm always interested in those kind of articles since I'm sure online viewing is pretty good for some of the soaps.

So where did all the new old people come from?
