Members Mr. Vixen
No one answered my question.......Other than Nina on AMC and Y&R have there been any others?
Members DRW50
I don't believe so although I think there may have been someone with that name like 50 years ago on Love of Life.
Members LoyaltoAMC
Actually now that I think about it, there was a Nina Frascetti, or something like that, on GH in the mid-80s. It was when Frisco became a cop, and he and Felicia became friends with another couple on the police force, the Frascettis. I think the husband's name was Sam. Anyone else remember this couple? Obviously there were just minor recurring characters for a while.
Members Cheap21
I forgot before but GH used the name Katherine twice. In the 80s, there was a Katherine whom was paired with Robert. The 90s had Katherine Bell who got involved with Stefan and Ned
Members Dr Neil Curtis
I like that soaps repeat names, because it shows that have a real life feel to it. Everyone knows its like a million brandons, toms, kates, maggies, alberts, etc in the world. I liked when Y&R had John Abbott & John Silva at the same time. Members Money
I've never heard Evangeline, let alone Williamson used before on a soap except on OLTL. It's definitely not a soap name. I agree with an above poster who said BB has the most unusual names.
Members kalbir
Bill Bell used his name and those of his family members for some original Y&R/B&B characters (Bill Foster, Lauralee Brooks, Brad Elliot, Bill Spencer) as well as some who came later on (Brad Carlton, Colleen Carlton, Billy Abbott). Bradley Bell has done this on B&B as well (Bill Spencer Jr, Liam Cooper). I remember reading an interview with Bradley Bell sometime in the 1990s and he mentioned Bill Bell took the name Ridge from one of Bradley's college classmates. Members All My Shadows
Speaking of Y&R, this always cracks me up, especially "S Carter St." Anybody know the story behind any of that? I'm sure whenever they built the neighborhood they just decided to throw a shout-out to Bill/Y&R.

Members Paul Raven
Re Ridge and Thorne,is one (or both) actually abbreviations of a longer name? i have a vague memory of reading that somewhere.... As for exclusivity of names, particularly female names,if you look back, you will see that if a soap had a popular character with that name,no other show would use it. In the 50's and 60's Jo and Patti were not used due to association with SFT. ATWT had Ellen,Penny and Lisa. GH had Jessie and Audrey. Days had Laura,Julie and Marie. AW Rachel, Alice ,Missy and Lenore AMC had Erica,Tara then Nina. There were some exceptions. AMC used Liza when that name had been used for years on SFT. OLTL and AMC both had Jenny's. Felicia was a character on AW,GH and B&B at the same time. Can anyone add to the list of shared names? etc
Members DRW50
GL and GH had Lucy from 1993-1997 From 1989-1992 GL, AW and ATWT had Frank, Frannie and Frankie For a few years Loving/ATWT and then later GH/ATWT both had Lilys AMC and ATWT both had Biancas for the first half of the 90s ATWT/GH had nurses named Meg not that far off from each other For most of the 90s OLTL/Loving/City/GL all had characters named Alex GL/PC had characters named Frank
Members Sindacco
DAYS had Bart which is not a common name on soaps. DAYS Susan Banks and Lois Banks.
Members Cheap21
I wouldnt put Laura on this as GH had a Laura who ended up being the most famous Laura in daytime. Interestingly enough, both women shared the same full name of Laura Spencer (although GH's Laura got that through marriage)
Members Paul Raven
Some instances where characters had the same name. On Love of Life and AW there were characters named John Randolph appearing at the same time-AW was first.Wonder why LOL copied that name? Days Laura Spencer became Laura Horton and GH Laura Baldwin became Laura Spencer Somerset and GL both had characters named David Grant Ben Jerrod and Y&R -John Abbott Concerning Miss Marlowe and Loving - Mike Donovan A Time to Live and The Doctors - Greta Powers Miss Susan and Days -Susan Martin
