February 15, 201115 yr Author Member She had such a real power and sexuality and even with the silliest material had some dignity. I loved Sally and the Spectra gang.
February 15, 201115 yr Member Sally Spectra  I always rooted for her for all those times she fell into the water(Forrester pool, Lake Como, Tricia's hot tub etc.) yet I don't think she ever intended to be rivals with anyone. You know, since Conley's death in '07 I haven't kept up with B&B that much plus the show fell into the crapper too.
February 15, 201115 yr Member Sally was great! She has left a hole in the fabric of B&B that is impossible to fill. The show has not been the same without her. You'd never have realized she was so important while she was still around. She is sorely missed.
February 15, 201115 yr Member Sal I do love the fact that she's still alive, though. The idea that Sally Spectra is eternal is just perfect.
February 15, 201115 yr Member If B&B are ever forced to write Stephanie out, I would love to see Sally (or the back of Sally's red hair) show up on a yacht at Marina del Rey, ready to take Stephanie on an around-the-world cruise. She really left a hole in the show. She was its heart.
February 15, 201115 yr Member By chance, found this clip of when Macy Spectra first showed up on B&B. This isn't as campy as some of Sally's crazy schemes, but it showcases Darlene Conley's ability to underplay for maximum effectiveness without losing any of her Sally spark. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fHX6gKiCLNg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
February 17, 201114 yr Member OMG!! That's the guy! The guy from the voiceovers! That's EXACTLY what I imagined he looked like!
February 17, 201114 yr Author Member Yeah he appeared in the ads for a few years. I remember him well. My favorite was the "gimme the buzz gimme the buzz gimme the buzz" era.
February 21, 201114 yr Member it showcases Darlene Conley's ability to underplay for maximum effectiveness without losing any of her Sally spark. She always was one of the most underrated actresses in Daytime history. Edited February 21, 201114 yr by DeeeDee
February 24, 201114 yr Member You know whats the saddest part about Sally/Darlene's death. I think B&B has tried to beef up some of their current female older characters (Pam, Jackie) into becoming more like she was, but in the end there will never be another Sally....Period. Not just For B&B but it is sad that soaps have lost all the campy female characters that made the shows sparkle.
