I wonder if they tried to contact Suzanne Davidson.

The Betsy they cast was perfectly fine but really was just there - extremely generic. They may have been better off not having her return.

I wonder why they did not try Sallows again when Betsy briefly returned in 1994. I can't even remember that Betsy - I don't think I have ever watched most of that material.

Another character who was painted as a deadbeat/bad mother by ATWT in later years due to lazy writing.

Currently up to second half of 1992 - Margo’s rape, Rosanna’s intro story, Holden’s disappearance/memory loss. Also a bit jarring to watch KMH as Emily at this point after getting used to Melanie Smith.

I’m fascinated by Rosanna’s interactions with the Snyders so far - it’s weird watching scenes between Rosanna and Angel for example, but those two had the beginnings of a strong friendship!

There’s a big gap in the middle of 1992 episodes available, so I have a couple of questions:

* What was the catalyst for Holden’s disappearance?

* What ended up happening with Linc and Marcy?

Reckell was born in 1955, so he would be about 25 here. Davidson was born in 1963, so she would be about 17.

For me, the problem was that Davidson came across as younger, and Reckell looked older, so it was like a 15-year-old was with a 30-year-old. It made me uncomfortable.

Holden fled to New York after he discovered Aaron was his son he wanted to discuss the issue with Seth when he got hit by a car. I think Marcy and Linc broke up over all her lies.

In other news - Last night Martha Byrne (Lily) had a social melt-down (on a Saturday Night no less) where she wrote post after post on "X" (formerly Twitter)  about how terrible Kamala Harris/Tim Waltz is, how the GOP has been there for her, asking "What LGTBQ rights did Trump take away?", and telling people how Tulsi Gabbard was thrown under the bus by Kamala Harris

She lost a few fans last night after her "X" rant - on a Saturday Night of all nights!

Which time should I watch first?

march 1990?

or July 2001?

I would love for the summer of 2001 with my favorite teenage crush Katie but I’m also interested in the German episodes from 1990 with Bob-Susan-Kim and characters like Iva etc. I’m also interested to see the other Lily.

i have to admit i just watched some mid 90‘s with my mom and that dumb mark krasnoff and Conner.. But regularly I’ve just became a big fan during 2001/02.. maybe that’s why I love the 00‘s than most fans around.

As an '00 lover, I'd say start with October 2000. Personally. But, if you're interested in summer of 2001 you can't go wrong. It's just that, if you start in October 2000, you'll see the buildup that leads to the summer of 2001 and, imo, it's worth it.

Also, more of that time period exists than the 90s. It can be frustrating to try and piece it together. Whichever you choose, enjoy!

That was talked about in the politics thread. Not sure if it is best left there, to be honest...although she was certainly on ATWT. I'll just say I'm relieved I was never a fan and that I don't know what Heather Rattray's politics are.

@Soapsuds Thanks. Such a lovely photo.

Holden drove straight from Oakdale to NYC to confront Julie about having fathered a child with her (Aaron).  He was so determined to get clarification that he didn't tell Lily (or anyone else) about the impromptu trip. After meeting with Julie (who told him everything) he left to drive back to Oakdale.  As he was approaching his car, he was mugged and severely beaten by thieves who stole his ID, cash, and car -- leaving him for dead.  Julie, who was leaving for a European trip, assumed Holden had made it home.  She had no contact with anyone back at Oakdale, so she didn't learn about his disappearance for months.  As for Lily, she and Holden had had a big fight right before he left (related to her miscarriage and the tension between them), so she assumed he had just abandoned her -- which no one really believed (including Lily herself) but without any other evidence, what other reason was there?

Linc discovered Marcy's true personality and caught her bed with another man.  Marcy left Oakdale but "triumphantly" claimed that she was pregnant with their child and that she was going to come back and sue for child support.  I don't believe Marcy ever came back.  And Linc eventually left (but came back recast with another actor and an entirely different, toxic personality.)  He was eventually murdered by Ned Simon who was avenging his daughter Debbie's deflowering by a suddenly-scumbag Linc.

I think she did return, briefly, after he died. I mainly think that because I remember a Pure Soap episode where Michael Logan was glad because he said the show was so boring this might be some drama. I have a vague memory of her in widow's weeds.

That’s wonderful! Thanks for sharing this with me. I miss seeing these two on my screen together regularly.

Does Tamara have her own YouTube channel? I would love to see video clips from her mom’s birthday party, looks like fun!

Alright. I will give it a go from October 2000. I do prefer myself to watch some Emily, Barbara etc. Then the Bob-Susan and Andy’s alcoholism story tbh..
