The only Chuck Lorre shows I liked were Grace Unde Fire but even moreso Cybill. His other stuff is extremely repellant, especially Charlie Sheen.

@ Jack Peyton: totally forgot about Samantha Who. I did watch it and thought it was funny at times, but the scripts were mostly so-so. I only watched that show for the female leads, talk about great comedic actresses.

W&G at least had warmth (though in the third last and second last seasons I thought the humour got a bit too cartoony and sometimes even mean spirited--with a bit of a return to the old style for the last year). For some reason most multi camera sitcoms since seem to be offensive and worse, mean spirited, or else really dippy and lame "family" stuff (or sometimes an awkward mix of both). I can't think of one I can handle watching--sometimes Big Bang Theory I guess or maybe How I Met Your Mother but, not often... (and don't get me started on how loathsome I find Two and a Half Men...). Shows like Ab Fab have proven you CAN successfully do both--it's just the US, anyway, currently seems incapable of it.

It's odd that, though I'm not a big fan of most, I still at least find more to like in the single camera comedies. I mean even a show like Party Down that had a lot of jokes they did to try to shock (helped out by them being on cable) yet at least the characters were endearing and there was something *there*. I really don't get that on any major current network sitcom.

Chuck Lorre is definitely overated (I did kinda enjoy the war he had against Ent Weekly since they called him out repeatedly on how misogynistic Two Men especially was). I dunno, I found Dharma and Greg harmless (and at least at first it had an enjoyable cast)--Grace Under Fire early on was ok in its Roseanne ways (I give Alan Ball a lot of credit for crafting the better shows there though) and yeah Cybil in its AbFab wannabe ways could be enjoyable. But since then... (I only find Big Bang better than the current other two because of the cast really, nothing of Lorre's doing).

Her romance with Justin was ill conceived from the start really. My only problem is the way she's being written out really doesn't feel true to her character--but then again the characters have been such a mess for so long now, who's to say, and if it means she's gone...

And yeah, I'm not gonna make any excuses for Grant and his writing and plotting... (He was showrunner for most of the icky last year too...). He's a decent actor--he shoulda just stuck to that. ^_^
